༻ Farrah ~ Pokemon of the Hidden Spirits ༺

༻ Family History ༺

When Kalama (a Braixen Chandlure hybrid) first saw Flint (a shiny Braixen), she mistook him for another Braixen/Chandlure hybrid! She was wrong about his heritage, but it made for a good conversation starter — or a pickup line, if you will. Regardless, the young couple worked well together, and it wasn’t long before they were married and expecting their first child. Kalama and Flint moved back into Kalama’s den in the desert. They had a little boy, a Litwick/Braixen hybrid, who they named Kiran.

By the time Farrah was born, the three of them were well settled and were living a quiet, happy life in the desert region. Farrah changed all that. Born a normal Fennekin, she was loud, rambunctious, and full of life. She started talking at an early age and didn’t stop, always trying to keep up a conversation even if it was with two family members at a time. Because the four of them didn’t have a lot of interaction with other Pokemon much, Farrah grew up in a comforting and bubbled environment that allowed her extroverted personality to shine.

The family ran business together, too — the basement of their den/cottage was essentially a mini scented candle factory. Empty jars were cluttered all over the place, and barrels of wax flakes lined the walls. They had cabinets full of candle wicks, essential oils of all kinds for scenting the candles, and dyes to give them all sorts of pretty colors. The candle shop was massive and extremely cluttered. Whenever Kalama or Flint wanted to punish Farrah or Kiran for doing something wrong, they would be sent to clean the candle shop. It was an impossible task, and quite a tedious one, which probably explained why the two of them were very well behaved. If Farrah and Kiran got into an argument with one another, then they were sent to clean the shop TOGETHER until they sorted out whatever they had been bickering about.

Kalama and Flint didn’t get a lot of customers, but they were still able to manage by living a frugal lifestyle. They always considered moving to a busier location so they would get more traffic by their shop, but Farrah and Kiran wouldn’t dare let them move out of their small desert den. After all, since the business was always slow, Kiran and Farrah were able to grow close to their parents. As Farrah grew older, she became quieter and reserved. The father, Flint, taught both of them everything they could learn in a school and more, but Farrah still didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life. Kiran, who was seven years older than she was, was already making plans to move out and start his own bakery, but Farrah didn’t have anything that she knew she was both passionate about and good at. While Kiran’s outlet was baking, hers soon became journaling — she began to write a ton in little diaries that she hid in clever places around the house. That way, if one of her parents discovered one of them, they wouldn’t be able to locate where all the other ones were.

At fifteen, she started to stay out of the house more and more, as she was growing too big for the den and there was a whole world out there to explore! Her first expeditions started with her merely visiting her brother’s bakery and then returning right home, but as time went on (and as she got more responsibilities), she would visit the different regions and try to learn more about the various Pokemon living there. At this point, she had accepted the fact that she had nothing else to do but inherit her parent’s slow candle business, but she still put herself out there to see if she could find a different career worth pursuing. This was how she met Amun (in the town) and Piper (in the forest). She was sixteen when Amun convinced her to join the Mountain Rebellion. On the way to the mountains, Farrah was injured in a Dark Pokemon attack, and she was astounded by how quickly the Healer was able to take away her pain. Farrah realized that she wanted to become a Healer, so she could help others even when they were suffering through the worst of pain. Upon arriving at TMR, she requested to become a medic and became a healer apprentice to Elara (the head TMR healer).

Farrah went back to the desert to gather her things and break the news to her parents. They were surprised, to say the least, but there was a light in Farrah’s eyes that they hadn’t seen since she was little, so they supported her in her decision to move out. Farrah now lives in a dormitory at TMR.

For her seventeenth birthday, Farrah had plans to go and visit her brother and spend a few days at her parent’s house. Before she left, Amun got Farrah a scarf and matching accessories. Piper forgot, so at the last minute, Amun brought the fletching hybrid to town to buy Farrah’s favorite type of smoothie to-go (Piper would know — Razz Berry Pinap!).
