Naisse

Naisse has lived on the road for most of her life.  It's a choice thing, she never really feels right settling down in one place.  Plus she's got a bitchin' travel bike.

Naisse is also an artist by trade.  She sells her stuff all over, and prefers that too to selling in just one place.  You could run out of clientele that way! And you can get a good variety of scenery for inspiration by travelling.  There are lots of reasons to life a live on the road.  Like, the bugs.  Bugs are basically some of the most interesting things to draw.  When she's not selling her art on the road, she does a lot of commission work for nature publications.  Even gotten her flown out to some far out places to see some really cool and exotic creatures. 

Our origin story though, takes place in a museum.  Naisse actually managed to get one of those dramatic superhero awakening stories.  So there's this Nova in Brazil named Igor Correa.  Well, was.  He was fairly slain by a Razor-beaked Toucan.  Had the superpower of, well, making things like a razor-beaked toucan.  The less deadly ones were being presented in a nature exhibit here, and Naisse wanted to check out, what else, the bugs.  Novus Formicidae, or Novabugs as they're colloquially called.  Apparently these oversized ants could like, see through walls, and have an incredible sense of where other creatures are around them.  ...and they're kinda cute.

anyways some stuff happens.  An actual supervillain shows up to try and steal the animals (less dangerous doesn't mean less useful!)  Quickstep shows up.  And Naisse gets a KILLER HEADACHE.  and other pain too.  Inside bones changing to outside bones, and growing extra arms, and eyes, and it's really not pleasant. And so a whole thing happens with Naisse needing to learn to use her powers to help deal with stuff look I haven't written exactly what happens yet, but here's the basics.

Anyways, things are going pretty great for Naisse since then.  She's making MAD FUCKIN' CASH, because Novas are like instant celebrities so the value of her art just instantly skyrockets.  She puts on exhibits using her illusion powers to do some really cool shit.  And she's got a permanent live-in space in the museum where she got her powers. She's buddies with the curator and they worked out a deal for her exhibits and it was just convenient for when she's in town.

Not that she's totally happy, mind you.  She's stuck looking like a giant ant person.  And while the perks are convenient, she'd rather not look like a freak.  And it kind of just compounds her other problem.  People pay lots of money for her work, sure, but that's "oh my god, I own a painting by a nova!" not "oh my god i own a great piece of art from Naisse Tualle, who unrelatedly happens to be a nova."

Basically she's got issues with how other people view her as little more than her identity.
