He's very sweet and naiive, which tends to cause more problems than it should. Despite having been shown the worst in people many times he tries to find the best in everyone. He loves to learn and is actually a very good dancer. He's very personable and gets lonely easilly, which is a little rough since not only is he entirely mute (making it hard for people to understand him because sign language is uncommon in his universe) but he's got an extremely long lifespan (He ages around 1/100th the speed of a human) and he sees a lot of friends "grow out of him". Although he's very good at magic, he was never taught how to properly shift. He does a very good job of it for the most part, but he has trouble with the ears, so he permanantly has bird ears under a pair of large ear-like crests (that move as he expresses himself). He also happens to glow like a candle because of his heat magic.

TRIVIA
- Although he doesn't vocalize in words he's known to make a variety of bird noises even in human form
- He communicates through sign language or writing depending who he's with
- While Soren's hearing is perfectly fine, people tend to assume he's deaf because he doesn't speak
- He's perfectly capable of human speech, but it gives him severe anxiety (and even panic attacks) so he avoids it
- He can't lie, that's not magic he's just really bad at it.
- Soren doesn't answer any questions that aren't asked of him
- He's skilled in fire magic, and knows how to use all sorts of runes and sigils. He also has a grasp of healing magic and a small amount of spacial magic.
- He went to a magic school for a while
- The chol don't really acknowledge gender, which is a large part of why Soren doesn't really acknowledge it outside being amused how it effects others
- He is extremely superstitious.
- Soren never went through the proper coming of age rituals, so he's still considered a child by Chol standards. No one holds him too it, but he acknowledges his culture anyways, which means he covers the right side of his face with charcoal or ash to keep evil spirits away, and can't take on any roles normally reserved for an adult (ie. he can't get married, take a job where he has control over others, etc.). He's fully convinced bad things will happen if he does. He's also extremely embarrassed about it.
- He covers part of his face with hair to hide the charcoal/ash he wears, he doesn't like having to explain it (see previous fact)
- He considers Ezekiel Quicksilver to be his best friend. He also let Ezekiel think he was a girl for 16 years.
