Ban Anzu

Personality

At his very core, Anzu is a fun-loving person. Always looking for a good laugh, he tries to surround himself with unique people to appease his strong love for entertainment, preferring to be on the observers side rather than on the spotlight. With his amicable nature, he has no trouble with getting along with his peers and generally enjoys forming relationships. His mild disposition and earnest expression belie his playful personality, and while others may describe him as encouraging, it's his opportunistic and enablist nature that leads him to push people to strive for something, which, while not always a bad thing, is brought about by the pleasure of seeing something exciting by the very same quirky individuals he befriends. Despite this, he's inclined to leave his friends for others during the times they display personalities 'too boring' for his tastes. Proper decorum dictates him to be, at the very least, cordial with the plainer characters around him, who he often purposely foregoes for the louder masses. In line with this, Anzu has a tendency to get carried away by the flow of things in his enthusiasm and may even approach being pushy, in cases where he fails to contain his fervor.

A freethinking individual, Anzu possesses an independent side that stems from his diligence and skill in time management. His stubborn nature manifests once denied of what he wants, exhibited by his adamance in moving to Ichinomiya, which even he considers as a set-back towards his future. In addition to this, his lifestyle leads him to want for very little, as he can achieve most of what he desires through money or effort from his part, hence why instances where he is not given what he demands vexes him to the point of being petty and obnoxiously angry towards the culprit or even the people who unknowingly causes him grief. In a way, it can even be considered that he doesn't know how to be angry, to the point where he overreacts and blows up once his patience reaches its limits. Despite his mature countenance, his actions are driven by a childish desire to monopolize his time and surroundings to make way for periods of self-gratification.

Background

Anzu was born in the heart of Tokyo to a wealthy household and spent most of his childhood living a comfortable lifestyle. Growing up, his parents were patient with him and his siblings, undemanding to a certain degree and only asking for a certain lax standard. This method proved to have a positive outcome on Anzu, where he eventually learned to set his own pace. If there was anything Anzu loved more than anything, it was going out with friends, and learning that he could spend his time however he pleased as long as his grades were kept in a certain standard led to him learning how to manage his time.

Despite the heat he hated so much, summer was Anzu's favorite season, when he could go his granparents cozy house in Ichinomiya. It was a little out of the ways, but Anzu had easily developed a deep attachment to his grandparents. Life went on in a pleasant tempo, where Anzu spent most of his time cruising and spending his childhood in both Tokyo and Ichinomiya in bliss.

It wasn't until one summer in middle school when he realized how his grandparents were changing. His grandparents, who were always exuberant in their actions, couldn't hide their age. His grandmother's deep-set smile lines that belied her gentle smiles. His grandfather, who he had constantly viewed as the very definition of reliable, had grown feebler through the years, evident through the massages he asked of Anzu every so often. A distressing talk with his parents allowed him to move with his parents for at least in High School, with the conditions that he goes to a dorm, to make sure he was restricted to some degree for his general safety, and so he didn't have to impose on his grandparents for the whole 3 years and add to their burden. While understanding that the school might not be be as stellar as the ones in Tokyo, Anzu believes he can handle his academics sufficiently to be accepted into a college in Tokyo.
