The cherry-blossom princess and symbol os delicate, earthly life, daughter of the mountain god Ohoyamatsumi. A gentle, but extremely passionate motherly figure who reaches great lenghts to prove her love and protect her own pride.

The very avatar of life, Sakuya-Hime is the wife of the god Ninigi-no-Mikoto and the goddess of Mount Fuji. Ninigi was originally proposed to marry Iwa-Naga-hime, Sakuya-Hime's older sister, but he refused, claiming that his heart was set on Sakuya-Hime. As a result, Iwa-Naga-hime condemned human lives to be short and fleeting, like sakura blossoms- just like Sakuya-Hime.

After becoming pregnant in just one night, Ninigi grew suspicious of his wife and claimed that she cheated. Sakuya-Hime, outraged by the claims, entered a doorless hut to give birth and set her surroundings on fire, saying that if the offspring were Ninigi's, the children would not be hurt by the flames. Inside the hut, Sakuya-Hime then had three sons: Hoderi, Hosuseri and Hoori, all of which were born unscathed.

She is very caring nurturing, a very gentle motherly figure. Her delicate appearance however fools many, as Sakuya-Hime is ready to resort to any kind of absurd, extreme action to prove herself- her power, her pride, her love. She sees beauty in life, unbothered by the concept of death and frowning upon immortality, claiming that the beauty of a flower comes from the fact that it's temporary, therefore it must be enjoyed and prized while it's still here.

She really likes fire. Maybe a bit too much.
