Cubic Zirconia was created as an experiment to see if a gem could be deliberately synthesized to fulfill the duties of a Diamond while she was away, or if it became too dangerous for the Diamond to stay in that area. Needless to say, the experiment was a complete failure. Officially, C.Z. doesn't exist. Nope. Never happened. Actually, she ran away as soon as she came out of her hole. She basically was like "Heck no, I'm getting out of here." She has the ability to create portals, but has no control over where the portals go to. At all. She's been wandering the omniverse at random ever since.
