Claudia Delaney

Before Lydia developed her magic powers, nobody in the Delaney household knew about magic. Lydia came home one day and blurted out to her family how she could now heal injuries using a mysterious power. Not many days later, a whole magical community opened to Lydia, that the rest of the household felt detached from. Lydia's sister Claudia in particular did not take this well. Before Lydia awoke, both kids were very ambitious and would compete against each other for good grades in school, but after Lydia awoke they were no longer on equal footing. For years, she grew jealous of Lydia, her powers, and her exciting life as an FBI agent in training. She really wanted to be a part of the magical world, and it hurt her that she was cut out from it. Eventually, the jealousy boiled over inside, and... Claudia got her wish. She too awoke as a magic user out of sheer frustration.

But, because of her jealousy-based awakening, Claudia's powers are destructive and volatile. While a Mage, like Lydia, her powers are ineherently hard to control, and tend to activate when she's upset. Her hands release unholy energy that causes decay in whatever it reaches. Wood, meat, and bone will soften and rot, and metal and stone will crumble. With enough power, the decay can even travel through the air itself, turning it stagnant and rotting everything around her. Claudia wears special gloves enchanted with holy magic to limit these powers, but its not always perfect. Claudia is currently training to be a doctor, and wants to use her powers to heal in the one way Lydia's powers could never do. Healing magic promotes cellular growth, but not only can it not be used to cure cancer, it can sometimes even cause it. Unholy magic, however, kills cells like a poison, and when properly focused, it can be used like a scalpel to kill cancerous cells and leave a person totally unharmed.

Claudia is super ambitious, and tends to be spiteful and hold grudges, even though like Lydia, she aims to be a good person.
