Empress

Empress is a gentle yet strong young woman, who is known as the daughter of an infamous sect leader who devoted himself into culling humanity in the name of their god. As the sole heir she too is devoted to her father and their god. She highly excels in combat and leadership, and trains vehemently to prepare herself in taking over the mantle of her father someday. Even though not blood-related she sees the man as her only father, and sees the sect as her family. However despite her devotion and genuine amor towards the sect members, she is unforgiving towards traitors and deserters. As what was taught to her, she will execute those who turn their backs on them and their god, and will feed upon their "sin" for the greater good.

Earth survived an apocalyptic event called "The Last Judgment" where a pandemic killed more than two-thirds of the world population, and special individuals are brought back to life if the "sin", the virus, is compatible with its host. Survivors are called "wishbones" because the sin chooses someone with strong desires and contracts anyone who makes a "wish" to it. The sin and the host have a symbiotic relationship and the person brought back retains their self and gains special powers and abilities. Some wishbones were recruited by a cult who believe that the pandemic is god's work, and devoted themselves into culling humanity to rid paradise of the "unchosen". A girl named "Junko" was only nine years old when she became a wishbone, and was adopted by the leader of the said cult. She was then given a new name "Empress", which the man felt appropriate as she would one day rule paradise.

Empress is often mistaken as a cold and calculative individual, when in reality she is just a girl who finds it difficult to express herself and smile. Despite the twisted beliefs and conditioning she was put through by the sect, deep inside she is still an innately kind person. She enjoys looking after people, animals, and plants. She takes special care and attention especially towards the children and elderly. Because of her attachment to her "family", it always pains her to serve as the executioner when any of them is sentenced as a traitor.

A young man who's part of a rebel group of wishbones. Because the rebels and the sect have a common goal with fighting against the human-ruled government, Empress takes a general interest in them in the hopes of one day recruiting any if not all of them to her side. There were times the rebels and sect members fought alongside each other, and in one of these encounters did she meet Salem. Even though Salem is a mere member with subpar combat skills, she acknowledges and admires how he is willing to sacrifice himself for his friends and colleagues in dire situations.
