The fifth successful NASA mission to Venus, Magellan's mission was to map the planet's surface.
Although not the first probe to visit Venus, Magellan was one of the first successful missions to gather information about the planet. Her mission ended once her components were deemed too degraded by the proximity to the Sun and she dove into Venus' atmosphere, which vaporized most of her body.
As a Servant, Magellan's powers mostly come from her bond with Venus, claiming to have received its blessings although she does not see Venus as a god or divine entity. Rather, she sees Venus as sentient being in planet form. Her main class is Saber, with her sword cast from materials strong enough to sustain absurdly high temperatures.
Magellan is a cold observer, preferring to first recon her surroundings and watch things from afar before making her move. She has a high resistance to fire and high temperatures, unfazed by burns and harsh sunlight. As a result, she often teases other Servants for complaining about Summer, saying that they're 'weaklings' and 'don't know what real hot is like'. She is by no means of the confrontational type and would rather not have to participate in discussions or fights, but she'll stand her ground no matter what and can be rigid when it comes to her ideas and opinions.
She has a strange relationship with the Venus goddesses in Chaldea such as Ishtar and Quetzalcoatl. While Magellan can recognize their power signatures as from Venus, she has a hard time believing that Venus would grant its grace to people like that. She also feels a pang of frustration towards Nero, who's known as 'Saber Venus'. Magellan, however, doesn't bother any of them, and despite her opinions of them, she sometimes even watches them from afar to maybe learn a thing or two.
