Caroline "Hive" Martin

Powers:

-The bugs live on Caroline's body, clinging to her hair, clothes, skin, etc. They will move if individually threatened (won't be squashed when she lays down to sleep) but never stray far for long.

-They function as a natural extension of her body, aware of her intent. For example, the insects clinging to her fingers and around her mouth will retreat to safety when she reaches for food.

-When Caroline is agitated, the swarm will automatically defend her however they can. 

-With practice, she has learned to control the insect hoard somewhat. They still respond best to her subconscious commands, but are capable of more complex tasks with effort.

-Caroline frequently taps into her insects' senses to enhance her own picture of her surroundings. She is capable of sythesizing the various types of input into one cohesive map, often covering an impressive amount of space. The effect is that Caroline is rarely lost and is incredibly tuned to fine detail.

Essentials:

-Acquired her powers by inhaling mutated plant spores, which altered her body's chemistry in a way that gives her influence over insects.

-Her home life is kind of a mess, and her social life is pretty much limited to her team.

-She likes to train by running, excellent stamina (though not supernaturally so).

 -Otherwise, Caroline tends to find somewhere quiet outside to read in her downtime. She also enjoys video games, especially dating sims and RPGs.

Hive used to love watching "Needle's Eye." Abe's character, David, was really fantastic. So to hear the actor talk about her publically as some kind of pitiful monster is mortifying.
