Jin came from a broken home where his folks were always fighting. His dad, Somber Noctus, was emotionally distant and unavailable, slaving away at an accounting firm trying to scrape together enough money for the family to get by. His mother wasn't any better, and Jin knew she was seeing other men, and at the same time accusing Somber of doing the same for his long nights at the office, which were just that. Jin spent a lot of time outside the house due to this, trying to get as much distance from his toxic home situation as possible- he often went on walks alone, sometimes late at night. This is how he stumbled upon a trinket- a strange pink gem necklace that let him see spirits and auras. It's because of this pendant that Jin was able to see the lies- he was able to read the auras of his parents and sense the storm long before it came. As a coping mechanism Jin started drinking young and developed a flippant attitude, joking about the most serious things because it was the only way he knew how to deal with the serious stuff- was to make it less serious, more approachable. His parents split and he ended up with his mom for awhile, and he spent most of his teen years avoiding her for work, friends, clubs- anything he could find as an excuse to stay out of the house. Being near her just made him uncomfortable due to the dark aura that surrounded her.

He started couch surfing as soon as he could and continued to try to scrape together enough money for a place, but his drinking habits prevented him from landing a stable job. He met Myron Todeschi before ETHOS hit its big popularity boom, and he ended up spending a lot of time crashing on Myron's couch. Myron helped Jin sober up and the two became fast friends despite their opposite dispositions. Jin was still bubbly, joking about the worst in life and pessimistic underneath a cheery face, while Myron was his opposite, somewhat brooding, somber, but optimistic under his stoicism. Jin found entertainment in bantering with Myron, who tolerated Jin's over-the-top silliness. Jin just never left Myron's home, and ended up being a permanent roommate. For the first time in Jin's life, he was finding some sort of stability. Jin found himself calming down in this time, drinking less and figuring himself out more. He'd been putting off addressing his issues for a long time, and now that he was sober for once, he'd began to come to terms with Myron's aid.

Jin, at present day, is a silly, energetic, childish individual who enjoys hassling both friends and enemies alike with his joking. He enjoys the color pink, cross dressing and harassing his good friend Myron. He's still a professional freeloader, spending most of his time watching TV and loafing around, but he's in the process of trying to find a passion or hobby, something to give his life more of a sense of direction. Until then, though, he binges a lot of Netflix and does a lot of loitering. Jin flirts with everyone- including Myron- and is a very physically affectionate person who likes hugs and cuddles. He has a fun, easygoing atmosphere about him that invites people to talk to him, though his physical clinginess can be annoying to some. He's also still a guy who likes a good drink and a party. While he's reigned himself in a lot, he still can't turn down a good time! Just, now he has a designated driver to come save him and a steady place to live, both of which really help. He can still use his amulet to see spirits and energies, but he doesn't mention it- it's a secret he exposed to his parents, who lashed out at him and ridiculed him for his beliefs, which taught him to keep the secret close to his heart instead of sharing. For the most part, he uses the amulet to sense people's intentions, and he can tell when others are lying due to it- sometimes he sees a ghost, but it's an occasional thing nowadays.

Overall, Jin is a wild child who's settled down at least somewhat since his crazy party days. He's found a place for himself in the world as Myron's roommate, and is figuring out what he should do with himself now that he's finally amongst the sober. It's a puzzle, for sure. Until then, he's thankful to have a safe space to live and a good friend to support him while he goes through this time of change.
