Powerful but extremely moody, his antisocial personality and lack of leadership capability meant that he is perpetually unable to progress in the ranks. 

As a young child he was a well-known champion in the war games circuit and thus offered a place in the Officer training program, an offer that he happily took. However, halfway through the program his father died in the line of duty, and his resulting emotional instability caused him to flunk out of the program. To get away from his old "friends" in Artillery he ended up enlisting in the Knight division after finishing his schooling, and for his power he made a name for himself there too. Unfortunately he has never really gotten over his losses and failures, and continues to drag their weight behind him like an anchor.

    • He can be quite charming, a skill he learned from his war game days, and he does have quite a few casual friendships. He's a pretty decent friend but a lousy comrade, preferring to charge ahead and leave all the "baggage" behind

 

POWERS

  • Chaos Core - anytime he tries casting a spell with his innate magic, the effect and SP drain is random. He has a limited level of control, for example if he specifies an offensive spell then 80% of the time it would have at least some offensive effect. The only spell he can reliably use is Scramble. 
    • Spell: Scramble - causes magic to fluctuate within an area, disrupting the use of magitech items and randomizing spell effects (within limits)
  • Enhancement: Magitech Augmentation
    • Fabricate - able to create an item out of thin air (sword, gun, etc) so long as he has a reasonably complete understanding of how it works and how to make it manually, the item only lasts for as long as the stored SP lasts, the item may have magical effects but is far less efficient than creating a proper magic item and constantly drains SP from the user
    • Duplicate - able to instantly duplicate any mundane item that he is touching or has in storage, usually used on but not limited to bombs and projectile weapons, cannot copy magical items but can copy mundane items with magical inscription, only lasts for a preset period of time before it disappears (2-48 hours)  
    • Customize - modifies the appearance and effect of an existing magical/magitech/tech item, modified item must be about the same general shape and size, be used for the same purpose (eg. cannot turn a chair into a gun or vice versa), and have its own power source. A special battery can be used as the power source if the users themselves are unable to provide
    • Identify - able to detect an opponent’s gear and magitech items (information, uses, stats, etc), can be blocked by certain spells
    • Extension - able to temporarily increase the effective size of an item without changing its appearance, usually used to increase the length of a bladed weapon at the moment of cutting

 

EQUIPMENT

  • Spellbook - a book of spells that is magically bound to him, each page of the book contains a single-use spell for whatever purposes he might have. The pages are all written by the mage division mages but they charge him a higher price for custom spells because he can just duplicate pages once he has the spell. Spells cast using cards and papers are far less adjustable than spells cast through weaves and innate magic however, so he is largely stuck with whatever effect is written on the paper
  • Sword (magitech) - a magically sharpened blade that can shoot non-elemental cutting edges, normally just used as base material to be modified via Customize
  • Motorcycle (magitech) - rides a motorcycle as his "mount", he can control it mentally via an special implant and can also Customize it to be able fly, ride across water or dive. Takes up most of the space in his storage
  • Bag of Holding - a magically bonded storage unit full of stuff, and most of that stuff is one motorcycle

NOTES

  • Part of a bloodline that cannot control magic or use weaves, had a special magitech enhancement implanted into his body while in his infancy. That implant allows him to channel his chaotic innate magic into magitech abilities that are almost never seen elsewhere
    • His surname is only passed down to those who inherit Chaos Core, and the magitech enhancement was custom-created for their bloodline
  • Has four older sisters and one younger, and his dad died shortly after the youngest sister was born. He left home to get away from all them women and ended up living with his uncle
    • His family (aside from his uncle) owns a company making magitech white goods, and he occasionally gets called in to help 
  • Spends all his money on new spells for his spellbook and magitech stuff. Would much rather be a mage but unfortunately has negative talent with weaves and magic
  • Very good with magitech and general tech stuff
  • Is a car and motorcycle enthusiast, loves racing and stunt driving. Also likes jet skis, hoverboards and just about any kind of vehicle
  • While not on missions, often works as a research assistant, handyman or show/stunt driver to earn extra money
  • Sexually dominant and quite forceful, has a few long-term partners but otherwise doesn't really mess around
