Opinions on people with a lot of characters?

I believe it is most reasonable to have less than

2 Votes 25 characters
5 Votes 50 characters
5 Votes 75 characters
4 Votes 100 characters
2 Votes 150 characters
4 Votes 200 characters
8 Votes 300 characters
2 Votes 400 characters
4 Votes 500 characters
229 Votes Have as many as you need

I feel like people who have lots of characters aren't liked and idk why?? I have about 150 characters, and I do like all of them. Just been thinking about this since recently I saw a post where someone wasn't offering adopts to anyone with 100+ characters. So genuinely, give me your opinions because it's been making me feel kind of guilty lol

Edit: TYSM genuinely, this made me feel a lot better about my characters. I'm unsubscribing from the thread since so many of you are posting (my notifications are exploding ack) and I won't see any new posts, but feel free to talk to each other still! Ty again :)

Ahh, here we are back to people-with-lotta-characters discours /lh

Scratchgeist

I think people should mind their business 💀 /lh, not towards you op!
If someone wants a lot of characters then let them like... I don't get the whole hate behind it. Not everyone is going to be like you.

The reason I joined TH was so that I could store my OCs to prevent them from being stolen or whatever by others or lost in any way. Since it's a storage site I feel it's a little silly and unreasonable of some people to comment on how many OCs someone is allowed to have or whatever (not sure what it's called but hopefully you get what I mean) without an actual reason to do so. It just feels like gatekeeping imo.

I dont give a shit how many characters people have but I really think that after like, 75 or 50 characters theirs gonna be a significant drop drop in the quality of writing and just, designs in general

I think it's fine as well there are a lot of reasons for having a lot of ocs as well we don't know what the person going tho as maybe some don't want a lot of ocs but don't have the time to work on them or do but just need to get all of them done or it just whatever the person has their reasons for owning a lot of ocs.

I have a lot of ocs only because I see them more as show ocs, in a way they have parts in the show, a show/cartoon has a lot of ocs in it but they all have a part, I like having ocs to be backgrounds ocs, main ocs, and others, all of them are well care for and is part of the show but that mostly cause even if it a simple role, it still useful.

there is nothing wrong with having a lot of ocs, they are just ocs at the end of the day, they are made to make the person who owns them happy and comfortable.

((also agreeing with Feufeu and the others))

yeah honestly I don't have any strong opinion about what OTHER people have or do with their OCs.

If you ask me specifically, like how many OCs I would want to keep, it's max. 50 and I wouldn't want more than this. because I wanna give everyone attention and stay focused on my important characters and stories. This does not apply to other people's characters like I said. There is no number I could give as to what a reasonable amount is, because there is none, other than what the person wants for themselves and what their goals and intentions are.

I will say though if you got 7,000 OCs and tell others you treat everyone equally its quite funny. Because that's not possible, and that is okay. You don't need to find excuses or defend yourself for having a lot of OCs. man. it's fine!

mawibblap

tbh, Idgaf.
you shouldn't feel guilty about it, and fuck those who thinks you're a """hoarder""" for having too many characters, they're probably envious af of your ocs.

and I'm saying this as a raffle hoster who mainly hosts character raffles, so take that what you will.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter.

I don't mean that in a rude way either, it's just that what someone else does with their own characters is absolutely none of my business. If they have only 10 and absolutely love them all? Great. If they have 1000 and have some who they just looking at? Also great. As long as it makes them happy, that's what matters.

For me, personally, I have around 50 or so who are actually being used currently (the rest on my account are old/retired, or trade/sale characters) and couldn't see myself going over 75 without becoming overwhelmed, but that in no way means that other people have to be the same way.

People having a lot of characters should not be considered an issue or something people should be made to feel bad about. TH is a character storage site for crying out loud, it should be expected for people to have a large number of characters, designs and concepts.

The TH community has problems with entitlement and not understanding the concept of ownership or how to mind their own business.

TypicalUkraine

Wow, the site meant for storing characters have people who store a lot of characters? Color me shocked/lh.
