there's another artist im low key trying 2 befriend and we even share a mutual friend that's close 2 us! i've recently started dming them due to a art trade, but im literally so horrible at making friends. they take about a day to reply to me, which is understandable cause they're a signifcantly bigger account, thousands of followers, and probably busy, but even after the artwork is done, im kinda prolonging the conversation. i just have such a huge fear of being annoying and idk if i'm just overthinking, but im so paranoid im making them feel like they're obligated to reply to me. i'm tempted to subtly switch topics and ask more questions so we can keep talking and they seem really nice and pretty vocal with the messages they do send, BUT IM STILL NERVOUS LMAO i wish i could tell when i was being annoying, but im also like, "am i weird for trying to talk even though we already finished business?"

honestly if they're still talking to you after the trade is done, they probably like talking to you! :o
if you're still unsure, maybe you could ask - something like "hey, I really like talking to you and want to continue this conversation, is that okay with you?" something something no worries if they're not interested
