Hinata

Hinata has a highly fragile and nostalgic state. He wants to run away from his struggles but continually tells himself otherwise in an attempt to stop lingering on his past. He is introverted and uncomfortable socially, and struggles to manage his emotions because he can't let go of it. Whenever possible, he occludes himself from reality by listening to music in his headphones. He strongly fears abandonment, being hated, and emotional anguish.

Most of his story takes place in a universe where it is 2015. Though Hinata detests becoming a pilot, he eventually does as he's told as he hopes to receive his father's love and approval, who abandoned him when his mother died; At the time Hinata was only three years old, and he lived elsewhere for 11 years. Hinata believes he wasn't good enough to prevent his father from leaving. In the present, his detachment from the rest of the world can partly be blamed on how little connection he's had with others.
