thoughts on offering on OCS?

I personally don't mind it unless said person is pressuring me/insistent on me reselling. But if they're asking for a heads up if a character goes for sale, I really honestly don't mind at all. I do have it specified on my profile that none of my charas for sale but also that people could ask if they are actually interested for character sales.

I haven't gotten anyone actually rude about it to me, so that's probably why I'm 100% okay with it. I'd imagine if someone became snippy with me tho I'd like it a lot less. But otherwise, it helps, at least, if I'm in a hurry to sell.

I'm not a fan of out-of-the-blue solicitations in either direction. I've been very curt in all of my replies because I'm not going to sugarcoat the fact that I don't have anything I want to give up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

It never happened to me before. I guess my characters are boring lol . Or only people with brains visit my profile xD 

If it would happen even if the characters are CLEARLY not for sale or offer I would be pretty annoyed. I wouldn't say it's really "rude" but.. it's not great either. I would be pissed because people don't pay attention and use their two left brain cells. I mean...I can fully understand it if a character is very unclear. Some people put in the characters wroth in their name but the characters aren't even for sale. Like the owner don't mention it anywhere. This is the only case I would say it's not the fault of the person who randomly offers on such characters.

Personally, I don't really mind. Turning people down is annoying though so if they note out of the blue, I might just ignore it.

i hardly have any characters so it's never happened to me before! i imagine i wouldn't mind tho as long as the person just makes an outright offer that i can either accept or decline. "do you see anyone you like" is also fine, but if i get a pm that's just "what do you want in exchange for x", i just get super stressed out and i will likely not respond bc thats way too broad but there's no hard feelings lmao (ofc the above post's consideration where they ask if its ok to offer on someone is also fine imo, that's actually rly polite)

i agree with most of the others in this thread in finding unsolicited offers rude .... in my experience its only like 2 or 3 of my characters that i get these offers out of the blue on, and every single time ive been pretty annoyed about it because they were designs i have no interest in ever parting with and were clearly not for trade. i have a highlighted note on both my trade thread and my profile not to offer on anything outside of my clearly marked uft/ufs folder; i keep the designs in question in a folder labelled "permanent"; i have never made any indication they would be for trade and i don't make "entertaining offers on mains" bs threads. it really makes me wonder how willfully ignorant you have to be .... even if you find the character on recent favourites or something, you can clearly see the folder title from their profile, and my user profile is a click away. honestly.

that being said, i don't block when someone offers, i just politely reject. i don't have it in me to be rude about it lol. but i definitely am more annoyed when im fed some sob story about dream designs or whatever. no amount of wistful pining is going to make me change my mind. if i didn't like them i wouldn't have them. that's the end of it.

tbh it depends, if the oc specifically is nft / forever homed or you have a warning saying not to offer on your ocs, then yea obv ppl shouldnt

if you don't have a warning and you have a folder of ocs that ppl might see as up for offers (i.e. wip, unnamed, unsure, etc) then you shouldn't get mad if ppl do

if you say on your profile that's youre open to offesr on your ocs then you brought yourself into this if you get offers on ocs that weren't properly tagged

personally for me?? i like when ppl offer on my ocs. idk why but its extremely validating to me when ppl offer on my ocs / express interest in my ocs / ask to be on a pinglist for my ocs / add my ocs to dream design folders. idk why but it makes me so happy even if its my sona or an oc ill never give away. pls do this for me (but pls do not to this for others if they say its not okay)

Yeah, I find them rude. If the person doesn't specifically say they're ok with offers on all characters, don't do it. Pretty straightforward. 

Not a big deal to me tbh though I do mark the folders that people can/can’t offer on so it slims down on the offers sent my way. I won’t block them for it and usually simply tell them that I’ll add them to a pinglist in case I ever do sell but I’m not interested in doing so at the time.
