Golden Eclipse, or Valya, was born into a tribal village of shapeshifters, where each individual is born with three forms that they can shift between at any given time. These forms reflected their true personality, and they were given jobs within the tribe based on them. Valya's three forms were that of the feline - representing her cunning and stealth - the dragon - representing her pride and greed - and the rat - representing her cowardice and inability to keep promises or deals. Fortunately for her, specific forms do not reflect the same traits for all those with that form, and so Valya's ambitious parents assumed her shameful rat form to represent her adaptability and cleverness. They thought Valya to show great promise; they were, however, sorely mistaken. Not at any point in the seventeen years she spent in the tribe did Valya appreciate them or their plans, and she found herself instead to develop a desire for stealing various knick-knacks, something highly frowned upon in her village.

When she was fifteen years old Valya passed the tests mandatory for all those her age, which discover her strengths and abilities, and hence essentially decide what career would be most suited for her. Naturally, this was not something that intrigued her, and her results were poor. Much to the disappointment of her parents, Valya ended up a shop assistant in a small store for second-hand items. While it was a disappointing place to work, she quickly discovered the delightful things that some people occasionally discard, and her habit for stealing only grew more and more frequent. One day, as it always goes, she was seen; a quick interrogation revealed her stash of shiny trinkets that she'd been hoarding her entire life, and Valya chose to flee the village instead of face the consequences.

Being reliant on others her whole life and a typically despondent, sulky creature, she struggled for a while. But it was not long before she grew more adept at stealing and found herself raiding the houses of the rich and various stores, embracing her newfound passion for adorning every part of her in jewellery. Now, Valya has long changed her official name to Sunset Grove to avoid any connections with her childhood, and travels from village to village; she falls comfortably into the role of acting like a wealthy noble and enjoys the hearty praise that comes with it.
