Murdoch

Murdoch is a loner who belongs to the sea. He keeps to himself for a few reasons; at his home town, he has a very mixed reputation. Some people hate him, some love him, some are fearful, but most of them think he’s in denial about his father’s passing, causing them to pity him. Murdoch hates being viewed in such a lense, and finds it much easier to avoid interaction. This isn’t to say he never does however; he doesn't mind interacting with people in short bursts, though he's usually very dry and stoic when he does.

Murdoch is almost always traveling the ocean, taking breaks at harbors along his journey. He never stays in one place for too long and is constantly on the move in search of his father, who left on an expedition with his crew when Murdoch was a child. Most people from the harbor have accepted the idea that his father won't return, but Murdoch believes he's still alive and needs help. During one of Murdoch’s trips in search of his father, he and his crew got caught in a nasty fight with a sea monster. This is when he suffered the loss of his eye, as well as many crew members. What remained of the crew disbanded once the expedition was over, and they have mixed feelings about what had occured that day. Many of the family members of the deceased blame Murdoch for what had occured. He feels a lot of guilt as well, but struggles to talk about it and may get defensive.
