TRIVIA
He is fond of neck scratches, around his blue hair/fur. Only the ones he trusts with his life can reach this area though. So try his forearms first.He is a powerful, high-ranking hellhound, thus his aid is sought after by witches and warlocks. He never made a pact,feelink like it'd endanger his freedom.
Literally looks like he couldkill you but is a cinamon roll. With some himbo energy.
His blue hair/fur turn into flames when upset or about to turn. He can control wether or not they can burn, depending on his target and his feelings at the moment.
PERSONALITY
Ghast is of a very kind nature, well-meaning but silent most of the time, making him a great listener. He is what we could describe as a "dumb optimistic", meaning he always tries to see the best out of all situations, a strange trait for a hell spawn.
He is a great listener but horrible at advices, having trouble to grasp human emotions sometimes. Thus he is a bit too straightforward sometimes. Or, he doesn't understand your motives (he interpreted flirting as "wanting to make a hellish pact" several times, no one tries to correct him because the discussion is hilarious).
Being an optimistic, he has a great admiration for the Overworld, and "life" in general. Therefore, he is ready to get excited and admiring absolutely everything when going there, from sunsets to ants building a home. He despises the Underworld, his home, in comparison.
DESIGN NOTES
In human form, Ghast can alter his appearance at will, he doesn't have to look masculine (even if it's his go-to look), or any specific gender for that matter.
He has a full human form (without dog ears, glowing eyes and claws) to infiltrate human settings.
In his original form (dog-like) he can adapt his size: from "normal" to "horse-sized monster"
His skin in human form is naturally ashy-looking.
His blue flames are almost always present on his back in canine-form. If he needs to be more discreet, they can disappear though.
BACKSTORY
Ghast is a Hellhound born amongst many others in the Underworld. His main task is to retrieve lost souls from the Overworld to the other side. He doesn't deal with death, per say, but rather with the despair of the souls that are left behind. He comforts them with his blue flames, attracting them like moths, and herd them to the Underworld with him.
To assist in his work, he was granted the capacity to hear the souls' ethereal wails, and can smell death coming, though he is unable to predict it with accuracy. It only knows when it's near.
He is growing more and more tired of his homeland, but still appreciates being able to relieve souls from their pain, so he flees more and more often in the Overworld, pretending that he has souls to attend to there. Nowadays, he stays in the Overworld almost all the time.
