Malekai's a special case. For all intents and purposes, he should be dead. He legally was for a time, anyways. If it wasn't for the magic and technological expertise from his "father" Skaill, he would've been six feet under ages ago.
Considering half of his skull has been replaced by wires, chips, and chrome, Malekai has a tendency to think from a logistic point of view. More calculating risks than following his gut feeling or his heart. He prefers to keep his distance, analyzing and watching from afar.
He does have his human moments, don't think he doesn't! It usually manifests as panic attacks however, as it usually emerges after pulling the trigger on a hit. The chip in his head is hellbent on following a protocol, which including following through with any assassination that pays well. Regardless of how he internally feels- he could scream in his head to stop, and his body'll betray him every time. Only rarely, when the software glitches/needs maintenance will he have a chance to regain control and avoid killing someone.

Summary
Much of Malekai's childhood is a blur. He can't recall any faces, voices, nor events. He can never decide if it's due to some hidden trauma that he doesn't remember experiencing or the result of the accident and all the metal in his head. Thinking back on his childhood only generates warm feelings of nostalgia, along with a strange.. pit in his stomach. Like something went wrong.
His twin sister Nelai was, at one point in his life, his rock and safe space. There was nothing he couldn't talk to her about. Whilst they drifted slightly after the accident, she was still there by his side to help him through the nightmares and healing process. She honestly helped keep him sane. A shame their closeness didn't last.
His accident happened due to an attempt on Skaill's life. A mine was placed on the ground, laced with magic to ensure it could reach the target inside. However, Skaill wasn't in the car at the time. Malekai, however, was. His father had sent his son ahead while he was preparing some documents, and was the first to arrive upon hearing the explosion. Half of Malekai's body was mangled beyond repair. Ironically enough, it was the raw magic inside of the mine that kept him from bleeding out instantly.
Eventually, however, Malekai has enough of the constant memory wipes and painful killing. What his father calls "visual and auditorial glitches" seem a lot like resurfaced memories, and he doesn't like what he sees.
Design Notes
• His cybernetics are on his entire left side.
• The lights on his cybernetics are usually purple. If they're green, he's no longer in control of his actions.
• The wires along his neck are made of a material physically similar to nylon.
• The core on his chest is his synthetic heart. He guards it well.
• His eyes are salmon colored. Not red, nor pink.
• His current ref sheet is outdated when it comes to his personality, age, etc. Only refer to it for his physical appearance.
Fun Facts
• He's somewhat bilingual, only being semi-proficient in Spanish whilst being fluent in English. When the cybernetics take over, he can speak any language.
• He has two dogs, a mutt he found on the streets and a rescued Doberman.
• Sudoku is his favorite pastime.
• He's got his eye on a particular mechanic, but doesn't want to make things awkward. They talk briefly, mostly due to the fact that Malekai doesn't want to burden this random man with his "unique" line of work.
• He hates the beach, merely just because of all the sand.
• As a child, he loved law enforcement. Now he knows better.
• Due to the fact that he has no feeling in his left arm, he could theoretically punch clean through someone's chest at the cost of having to repair the totaled cybernetics.

Nelai
His twin sister. Growing up, they were as close as humanly possible. After his accident, they drifted apart a little due to having been sent away for training. He admired her greatly, but once shit hit the fan, their relationship cracked and fell apart instantly once Nelai found out what he'd done. He never wanted things to end like this.
Skaill
His adoptive father. The twins didn't know they were adopted, at least not until later. He was the one in charge of running the business, and also did "maintenence" on Malekai's software. It would always glitch, which would conviently call for a routine memory wipe. How odd. As a child, Malekai adored Skaill. Post accident, he was treated more like a weapon that needed calibration than a son. Push someone for long enough, hide enough things, and they're bound to break.
Juliet
Romeo's half-sister and Nelai's fling. As far as Malekai knows, they function on a 'friends with benefits' kind of thing. It doesn't really interest him, honestly. Besides, whenever he'd ask he'd be met with a "It's complicated Mal, don't worry about it". So, he doesn't. She's a nice girl though.
Romeo
Juliet's half-brother and the only person he really speaks to casually about his interests. They don't talk about much, but something about the clearly demonic degenerate lets Malekai unwind a little. He occassionally vents about his hits because.. well, who'd believe a hellish freak like that, right? No need to worry about getting arrested with him.
