「Personality」
Ezra thrives on his own 'started at the bottom and made it this far' story. He is driven and ambitious, and willing to fight tooth and nail to get what he wants. Ezra surprises people with an initially disarming, and taciturn personality. People underestimate him, and he takes advantage of it. Under a soft-spoken nature, he garners a severity that got him where he is now. Ezra's loyalty is not one to press and working under Cross only exacerbated the quiet danger. His own loyalty to his boss seems unwavering, but the adaptability and drive reveals that Ezra is terrified of failure. Challenging this fear can only push Ezra to more desperate drives, and reveal sudden outbursts only the worst have pressed him to.
ＳＴＲＥＮＧＴＨＳ —
At best, Ezra is cold and adaptable. This leads to him being able to make snap and strong decisions if the situation calls for it. When a situation goes south, he can adjust and try to come out of it with some semblance of success. He is a hard person to break, and his affect tends to remain relatively even. Being of little words, he saves himself from speaking out in bad moments, and often takes punishment constructively as a result. Even when said punishment is physical. He also isn't a fan of unnecessary death, and will try to ensure the safety of people who work for him, if he deems it able to be done. Ezra is loyal where loyalty counts, but can still think for himself.
ＷＥＡＫＮＥＳＳＥＳ —
Ezra is remorseless, and lacks most empathy for people (though it is not entirely non-existent). His upwards drive leads to him being terrified of being struck back down. When threatened with this enough he can get desperate and lash out when pressed too hard. Despite his even nature, when brought too too much emotional pressure, he will snap in what is more often than not, anger. Ezra is not a friendly man, and while he earns respect, he doesn't often earn friends. This also leads to him being more flippant and inattentive to more romantic aspects--most people balking at the cold nature.
ＦＥＡＲＳ —
Plain and simple: Ezra is afraid of failure. Not just regular old failure, because he can handle than and move on. But the sort of failure that gives him nightmares of ending back up at rock bottom, on the streets, and turned back to substance abuse. By proxy, he is afraid of death. Death is ultimate failure. His own or others under his watch: he's afraid of death occurring with his back turned. On a lighter note, Ezra is not a fan of any sort of creepy crawly, ranging from spiders to the sort of rats that like to scurry in city streets.

Father disappeared for unknown reasons, leaving Ezra's mother alone to raise a child below the poverty line.

Ezra is arrested at 16 for possession of cocaine and DUI charges. His mother passes away during his rehabilitation time of previous cancer complications.
FEBRUARY 2005 ⟹
He celebrates a full year clean of narcotics. Ezra is working full time with the syndacate to work off his previous debt.
DECEMBER 2007 ⟹
Ezra faces a negotiation that should've gone all shades of wrong and walks away with the money and most of his team alive.
FEBRUARY 2013 ⟹
After proving himself and earning enough of Cross' respect, Ezra advances to the rank of Captain,
and already sets his sights higher.

After the drug lab's destruction, and the previous general's death, Ezra focused his intentions on the now empty position. He hoped to make enough of an impression to snag it before Cross' man behind bars was released and adopted it first.
