Isidore is a mercenary (a very devious and sly one), who grew up in a deserted land without his parents, but with a gang of mercenaries/robbers/bandits. Naturally, this kind of surrounding influenced him to grow up quite ignorant and not caring for anyone but himself (not to mention the greed for money). It's generally not his fault, it's all because of circumstances.

He never learnt how to read, and with Ryss's help he covers at least the basics; Isidore also learns richer vocabulary from him and uses it in his speech.
