I don't think this is just about us anymore...

She may have hated her boring life, but she'd do anything to go back. Now she's trapped in her own 80's slasher nightmare- And she wants out.

About

Winifred had big dreams. Big dreams, and terrible luck.

Her ideal life would have included a nice apartment, going out to concerts and boardwalks and pursuing her dream career in filmmaking. But, of course, her one way ticket out of town- a scholarship to study in the city nearby- was squandered by her mother suddenly dissapearing. A terrible coincidence. She rejected the scholarship with the hopes of finding her mother as she lamented in how the town had her within its grasp, just as it did every other poor family who had made the mistake of living in its cheap suburban homes. It fed off of their misery, she knew it. She could feel how it wormed its way into the hearts and minds of innocent children and their parents, how it knew when people were trying to leave, how it created a string of convincingly coincidental freak events to keep them contained.

But what could she do? She was just... Winifred. A woman who thought too much for her own good. A woman who cared too much to care at all. Just another husk being sucked dry in Hathoway.

Those half-dead neightbors who still clung to their last shred of hope would often visit her. Tell her she used to be so energetic. So bright. A ray of sunshine in their dull and sleepy lives. Someone destined to do big things, things that might make living in Hathoway just the littlest bit better. But they'd always end their praise with "What happened to you, Winifred?"

"Where did you go wrong?"

Personality

  • Winifred is a passionate and quick-witted person who cant resist her own curiosity. She's inclined to meddle in things that don't involve her and always seems to end up somewhere she doesn't belong, though she'll probably try and make the most of it. Telling her anything along the lines of "No, you shouldn't look into that," is a surefire way to get her interested in a subject or mystery, and chances are she'll be snooping around later that night to sate her hunger for closure. Don't mistake her for a selfish type, though; Though she's self-sustaining and able to hold her own, she'd never sacrifice the well-being of others if she had the choice. "The end justifies the mean" is not a phrase in her vocabulary, and if her friends aren't sharing her victories with her, then chances are it's not a victory for her in the first place.
  • Unfortunetaly, Winnie is forced to bottle up that drive and replace it with monotonous responsibility in the form of her job- An Expressin' Cafe Barista, where the hours are harsh and the pay is harsher. To those who don't know her, she comes off as just another moody cafe employee who definitely doesn't want to be there at 7am. With little money or time for creative outlets, Winifred took to urban exploration as a way to unwind during her free time. No place is safe from her and her Toyota Cressida as she scours every corner Hathoway has to offer, her face lighting up and her fingers racing to write down what she sees whenever she finds someplace new. She doesn’t even realize she’s looking for her mom within these abandoned areas, and is easily swept up in the excitement and wonder of finding something new.
