Damon is the main protagonist and the titular character of Damon Demon Slayer. As the title says he is a demon slayer, living in a world inhabited by both humans and demons. But unlike the other demon slayers Damon is a demon himself. He is an outcast among his kind though, which makes it easier for him to fight his kind. The reason is unknown for now.

Appearrance

Damon's a slender young man with grey-ish pale skin and silver / black hair partily covering his face. Like every demon he has red eyes, fangs, a tail and wings. His wings are very small and most of the time hidden just like his tail. The fangs are normally only seen when he opens his mouth. Additionally he has extendable claws. He always wears his grey coat, normally with rolled up sleeves. He wears a dark blue sleeveless shirt and a mailcoach tie. Also long grey pants with wide legs and black boots. His trousers are held by a belt with a triangular buckle on which hangs a small bag with fighting equipment. He wears a necklace with a golden pendant, normally hidden under his shirt and a bracelet, similar to a watch, on his left hand, that is covered by his glove. Another feature would be the triangular cloth, like yurei in japanese folklore do have it. Sometimes he wears a sword sheath on his back.

Personality

He is grumpy most of the time, which is due to lack of sleep and also because he is surrounded by annoying people. He is more of the cautious type, thinking before acting, what is due to his lack of abilities. So he instead used his head to solve problems - or as demons call it "solve it the human way". He prefers to get dangers out of the way and run away and normally only picks fights he knows he can win. But if gets into a risky situation he usually finds a way out.
Because he is different from the other demons, he was picked on and got scolded from the teachers for not being able to do normal "demon" tasks. Over the years he cared less about it, but secretly he was still a little envious of them.

Abilities / Skills

Dagger - He uses small daggers to fight demons. He's quite skillful with them. At least skillful enough.

Consructing traps - He didn't rely on demon powers unlike the others. Instead he solved his problems "the human way" by constructing things that help him. Especially when hunting he builds traps that suit their prey and lures it into them.

Climbing - He's a natural climber. Thanks to his claws it's easier for him to climb. Though he isn't quite a fan of it.

Trivia

• Unlike normal demons, he doesn't eat meat nor does he drink blood (because he can't take the taste). So he obviously has no instincts towards them.
  • Instead he eats fruits.
• Unlike other demons, he is immune to water. He also has no problem drinking it.
• His name is a pun on the word demon
• Damon means to tame
• He sometimes runs on all fours. Especially when running away, when being scared.
• He uses to climb onto something ( like trees for example ) when something surprises him. Similar to a cat. Though he sometimes can't get down again.
• The reason why he prefers melons over other fruit is probably their red color, that is similar to flesh
• His nicknames normally refer to either him being vegetarian and eating fruits and veggies instead of meat or his weak and frail appearrance
• His wings didn't grow much since birth. It's considered that they didin't because he doesn't eat meat.
• He wears a hitaikakushi on his head. The reason for this is unknown.
