A commoner whose brother previously worked at the castle.  He becomes close to Prim because he suspects she was somehow involved in his brother's disappearance.  Although he's usually rude and short-tempered, he has a good heart.

Story

Rowan grew up poor, living with his older brother and single mother.  When he was still quite young their mother skipped out on them leaving his brother to raise him on his own.  Because of this he's deeply attached to him, and does his best to live up to his expectations.

After his brother's disappearance while employed on the castle grounds, Rowan got a job there in order to investigate.  He's initially suspicious of Prim, but slowly begins to open up to her after she offers to help him find him.  

Rowan often makes a bad first impression- he's short-tempered and blunt and not at all good with people.  He's an honest, loyal, person though, and cares a lot for the few people who can tolerate him.  Social situations are awkward for him, so he tends to be abrasive at first to cover up his feelings of embarrassment, but after he gets used to someone he mellows out.
