Yua grew up in Kanezaka, her father a vigilante who pissed off the Hashimoto clan. They were kidnapped at the age of 16, badly injured and left in the street for him to find. This didn’t stop him from fighting them, and he disappeared a few months later.
Yua's grievous injuries and the loss of her father made her decide to craft her own identity as a vigilante based on the Overwatch heroes she looked up to, including studying the schematics of the Valkyrie suit wings and the weapon’s work of Torbjorn. They also crafted themself a distinct look, and when it was complete, they named the hero Koumori. For seven years, she fought against the forces of the clan, using the wings she’d built as weapons unto themselves as she decided the valkyrie wings were lacking, and a mask to make her identity unrecognisable. They willingly worked with others fighting the gang’s control, including the hero known as Kiriko.
Their time as one of Kanezaka’s guardians came to an end when news of Overwatch’s return met their ears. Deciding she could probably convince them to help, given the history the organisation had of fighting controlling criminal clans in Japan, she entrusted the duty of fighting the clan solely onto the Yokai and left to prove herself an ally to them, and to ask them for aid.
- Koumori borrows specific components from famous Overwatch heroes Angela "Mercy" Ziegler [wings], Torbjorn Lindholm [long distance weaponary], Shimada Genji [silent movement + leg armouring] and Reinhardt Wilhelm [chest armour + potential mask influence?]
- Yua has an intricate tattoo of a bat along their back, hiding their asymmetrical scarring.
- Has a taste for tea blends, particularly blends with flower petals.
- While she is patient with most things, specific things frustrate her extremely quickly as if she was an entirely different person.
- Despite taking influence from the way he was designed, Koumori has little tolerance for Shimada Genji. Or either of the Shimada brothers for that matter.
- Writes articles for 月新聞 (moon newspaper).
Nakamura Yua [中村結愛] is fiercely loyal to her home turf, and possesses incredible journalistic instinct. Given their known bat connections, their disappearance from town at the same time as Koumori, and their nose for information, they are the greatest lead we have on Koumori's identity. We are just missing true proof - footage of Koumori, without their mask.
