PERSONALITY

• Because Fatimah’s physical strength is so essential to her magic and her career as a warrior mage, much of her time is devoted to a strict training routine that keeps her fit and helps her fight the physical costs of her ability. Her work is her life.
• Fatimah doesn’t care for change, and she doesn’t just rely on her routine and role to keep her in fighting trim. It also gives her a sense of stability in a world that frightens her more and more every day. One might even accuse her of being someone who buries their head in the sand.
• Fatimah isn’t all business. She likes to laugh and LOVES to drink, but she has a hard time interacting with those who don’t share her experiences as mage protectors, soldiers, or mages who grew up in the Order. Those who would call her standoffish or unfriendly fail to realize she’s actually quite shy.
• Despite the fact that she’s a huge jock, Fatimah likes looking pretty when she goes out. You can catch her touching up her eyeliner after a long day telekinetically pumping iron.

HISTORY

• Fatimah was born in the town of Mead to an extremely average pair of non-mages. She was a physically active child, walking and running sooner than average, and it became clear early that she was born with the ability to lift objects that others her age -- and soon even adults-- would need the help of a Handmade Idol to lift. 
• Though she shares heritage with the clans of the Southern wilds, Fatimah’s family are third-generation townies. Her parents were quick to follow the rules and send her to Namarast as soon as her magic presented, despite the fact that she was only about five years old. 
• Besides being one of the youngest students at the school at the time of her arrival, Fatimah had a relatively normal time growing up in the Order. She was slow to make friends but worked hard academically and was quick to succeed in athletics, making her an ideal candidate for the mage protectorate by the time she was of age.
• Fatimah’s discipline, strength and loyalty (and the fact that she didn’t have a life outside the Order and knew little of it in general) allowed her to rise the ranks of the mage protectorate quickly. She made a career of it, becoming a strong team player who lead others by example and went wherever she was asked.
• No one who knew her was surprised to see Fatimah on the front lines when the first monster attacked Faline five years ago, but the fact is, she just happened to be substituting for another mage protector in the battalion that stepped up to fight. Her feelings about this are strange, and she doesn’t have much to say about it except that she’s glad she was there.
• Since the attack, Fatimah has been somewhat bashful about the attention she’s received as a hero. She tries not to be rude, but she avoids appearances when she can and lets others do the talking when she can’t. She’d really just like to get back to work.
