Cloud is a teacher at the academy in the capital. He can be found there planning, socializing, or teaching most days. He gets along with nearly anyone and hates being alone so he's always chatting with or around other people. Because of his social nature everyone at the academy knows him or at least knows of him. Cloud is a shapeshifter who can become a human, wolf, or anything in-between and he doesn't really have a preferred shape, he just changes however he feels. He is particularly proficient in fire magic due to his bond with his phoenix familiar Soot. He was gifted a phoenix egg as a kid which he hatched and took care of himself. They grew up together and are very close, they can understand each other and like to chat while Cloud works.

Cloud was adopted by Lightning and Nightshade at a very young age, he grew up alongside his adopted sister Obsidian who likes to tease him. When he was young he was given a baby phoenix which he named Soot, they are nearly inseparable and Cloud has learned to understand phoenix speak. Soot understands common too and they like to chat and whisper to each other.
