Sedgewillow

sedgewillow is a tall, lithe, dark brown tom with darker stripes decorating his tail, front paws, and eyes. he has accents of white on his ear tufts, front paws, tail, chest, and face. he has particularly tall ears and a long, kinky tail. every morning, he swoops his uglyass emo bangs back to make a clean, much more professional looking swoop. striking amber eyes speckled with lighter yellow tones. a scar runs down from his ear to his right eye from a badger attack during his apprenticehood. one also runs down his left shoulder from a fight with his former leader now beloathed, duskstar.

at a glance, sedgewillow could be seen as blunt and judgmental. however, he's gone from a cat who keeps to himself to one much more outspoken. his sarcasm is unmatched and he falters for none. he had a strong belief in the warrior code and his loyalties had always lied with his clan -- until he met sleepyshade, that is... he has a strong sense of justice and is determined to do what's right. he holds others around him to a high standard, but himself to an even higher one.

despite his previously cold exterior, he warmed up just a LITTLE bit thanks to his loving partner, sleepyshade. he has a soft spot for kits, especially his own. however, he tends to be a bit awkward around new kittens because they usually stop and stare at his eye scar, making him a little self-conscious! who knew kits could be so cruel?

now, sedgewillow is a total family tom! after getting lots of experience leading thunderclan and coming out of his shell a little more, he has moved to the farm with sleepyshade to live a peaceful life of retirement with them and their remaining kits. though still witty and sarcastic, he's definitely mellowed out a lot and is a total pushover for the kits.

sedgekit grew in up thunderclan with his littermate, quailkit, and two denmates, sorrelkit and sagekit. as a kit, sedgekit was extremely outgoing and a little rebellious; he often teamed up with sorrelkit and sagekit to cause trouble in thunderclan's camp. however, one day in leafbare, there was a terrible accident which resulted from one of their escapades, making their trio into a duo after sorrelkit's untimely death. sedgekit's personality did a 180: he was quiet, often keeping to himself. sagekit stopped speaking to him completely.

just under a moon later, ravenfrost became sedgepaw's mentor. he wasn't much good at anything; in fact, quailpaw easily surpassed him in skills and would go on to become a warrior much sooner than her brother. he used this to fuel his anger and teen angst, training harder than before to become the "best warrior in thunderclan." one night, after moons of ignoring him, sagepaw approached him to give a final farewell. what should have been a freeing experience, though, turned sour after she was found being mauled by a badger -- the very one that gave sedgepaw his eye scar.

around this time was when he found a riverclanner, sleepykit, hanging out around the border. they were late to becoming an apprentice due constantly being sick. the thunderclanner realized they weren't so different after all, but still didn't appreciate sleepykit stumbling onto his territory. the two became friends from that point on, despite sedgepaw's annoyance.

after watching the other apprentices get their warrior names, skystar finally gave him his own: sedgewillow. while his quick-to-anger demeanor and rude tone didn't exactly help him make friends, he and sleepypaw, soon to be sleepyshade, continued to meet by the border. the two became extremely close throughout the troubles of the clans, including when skystar, the thunderclan leader, was accidentally killed by none other than sleepyshade themself. in spite of the rockiness of their relationship after that, sleepyshade eventually gave birth to two kits: soulkit and cocoonkit. they went with sleepyshade back to riverclan.

many moons later, during one of their meetings, they saved another kit from being eaten by a dog near a twoleg bridge. sedgewillow decided to take the kit back to thunderclan with him, and duskstar would give him the name of foxkit. it was smooth sailing from there -- that is, until cocoonpaw got his warrior name! he had been named cocoontail, and he was so excited to finally tell sedgewillow! but immediately after stepping foot on thunderclan territory, he was murdered by duskstar in cold blood. only days later, duskstar was exposed for opening the dark forest portal and told sedgewillow and sleepyshade that he had killed their son. sedgewillow attacked, blinded by rage, but the ex-thunderclan leader disappeared into the night.

shortly after telling twistedthorn, now twistedstar, the news of duskstar's betrayal, sedgewillow was appointed deputy of thunderclan. he would have to become more open and more sociable than ever before with his clanmates and immediately began trying to rebuild thunderclan's reputation. but only a week after duskstar disappeared, twistedstar would follow. it is unknown what happened to him; only that a tuft of his fur was found amongst pools of blood. sedgewillow was thrown into leadership and appointed walnutnose as his deputy.

to add insult to injury, sleepyshade (now sleepystar of riverclan) met him in their old meeting place. they revealed that they would be leaving the clans entirely; there had been too much pain and hardship there. sedgestar told them he could not go with them -- not yet -- but he would meet him in six moons at the barn in windclan to live out their days together. the two said their goodbyes, and sedgestar began counting the days until he could see his love again.

the dawn of the day marking six moons, sedgestar would spend as much time with his soon-to-be-former clanmates as possible, and afterwards take walnutnose for a stroll. unbeknown to his deputy was that they were going straight to the barn -- straight to sedgestar's new home -- and he would discover he was to become leader that very day. after saying their goodbyes, they would part ways... but not until sleepyshade introduced sedgestar to his new kits, mothkit and cloudykit. sedgestar, now taking back the name of sedgewillow, invited walnutnose to visit anytime. now, he lives peacefully at the barn with his family, safe from all harm from then on.
