Profile
"Preparedness"
Personality:
She's clever, inquisitive, and bold. She puts most of her energy into her "investigations" and tends to fixate on topics that peak her interest, sometimes going to extreme lengths to learn more. As a photographer and a writer she is also artistic. She likes having an open mind, but can come off as a little nosy sometimes. Only with the best intentions though! Shana dislikes anyone that tries to disregard her work, as she is striving to be seen as a serious investigative journalist.
Appearance:
She is a black woman with a warm complexion. She has curly (4a) black hair, which she styles occasionally and prefers to keep up and out of her face. Her eyes are dark brown and sharp. She's pretty short too.
Clothing:
She loves accessories, donning gold the most, and wears glasses. She never leaves home without her bag and her camera. Dresses neatly in a personal style that's both professional and chic. Prefers beiges and patterns. Sometimes she wears a scarf to protect her hair, usually on more rainy days.
Growing up, Shana's natural inquisitiveness lead to her researching various topics constantly. As she got older she became more fascinated in unsolved crime, much to the chagrin of her parents. Having a mother that passed away very young, a distant older brother, and a heart broken father, she was in touch with grief. The more gruesome crimes was what she found the most noteworthy, and she focused on missing persons and murders. Her combined skills and hard work lead to her earning a degree in journalism and a full-time(ish) job in investigative writing. Shana preferred to move around to the most ideal place for her headlines, never being fond of staying in one place.
Unsurprisingly the town of Wickport managed to suck her in, the small town hosting multiple grizzly deaths and disappearances, as well as the visionary Architect of Tragedy. Shana wasn't interested in the the infamous murderer so much as she was interested in everything that had happened before and after his killing spree. Shana felt too much information had been left out of the reports or archives she had access too, so she finally caved in and decided to take up residence there.
Immediately after arriving she began interviewing relatives and digging through records that had been so pointedly forgotten. This lead to her name getting around, even helping her get into contact with multiple people; including Pat Bates and Daisy Martínez. She also ran into the local private investigator, Brent Jacobs, whom she knew briefly in college. They hit it off immediately and he offered to help. By what seemed like perfect timing, she also got her into contact with Damon Salkov, the aloof son of the Architect. He begrudgingly agreed (in other words, was forced) to aid in her search for answers.
