Designed in Death

When you devote your life to banishing the darkness, it's a little world shattering when you suddenly become it. After an encoutner with a vampire went south, Lawlet barely managed to escape with his life, but the damage had been done. Not quite human, not quite vampire, Lawlet settles his dhampir urges by continuing to strike down the threats to good society.

—— Barovia City Dhampir AU

From a good Vistani family, Lawlet's always known there's a little something off about the city's darling family. The Zarovichs aren't quite normal, but they pay well and without them the city would fall to ruin. And when there's something of an an incident between him and one of his boss's wives, well... at least the pay gets better to keep it all quiet. Lawlet's always been good at what he does for the family and his newly acquired dhampiric abilities only improve his work in acquisitions.

Darkest Dawn

Poised between the worlds of the living and the dead, dhampirs retain their grip on life yet are endlessly tested by vicious hungers.

Ability Score Increase Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Charisma increases by 1.

Spiderclimb You have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed. At 3rd level, you can move across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving your hands free.

Vampiric Bite Your fanged bite is a natural weapon, which counts as a simple melee weapon with which you are proficient. You add your Constitution modifier to the attack and damage rolls when you attack with your bite. Your bite deals 1d4 piercing damage on a hit. While you are missing half or more of your hit points, you have advantage on attack rolls you make with this bite. When you use your bite and hit a creature that isn’t a Construct or an Undead, you can empower yourself a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus in one of the following ways of your choice:
Regain hp equal to the damage dealt by the bite
Gain a bonus equal to the damage dealt by the bite to your next ability check or attack roll

Damned & Divine

Channel Divinity When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following Channel Divinity options.
⥇ Abjure Enemy. As an action, choose one creature within 60ft of you that you can see. That creature must make a Wisdom saving throw, unless it is immune to being frightened. Fiends and undead have disadvantage on this saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is frightened for 1min or until it takes damage. While frightened, the creature’s speed is 0 and it can’t benefit from any bonus to its speed. On a successful save, the creature’s speed is halved for 1min or until the creature takes any damage.
⥇ Vow of Enmity. As a bonus action, you can utter a vow of enmity against a creature you can see within 10ft of you, using your Channel Divinity. You gain advantage on attack rolls against the creature for 1min, until it drops to 0hp, or falls unconscious.

Relentless Avenger By 7th level, your supernatural focus helps you close off a foe’s retreat. When you hit a creature with an opportunity attack, you can move up to half your speed immediately after the attack and as part of the same reaction. This movement doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks.

Whispers of the Dead Echoes of those who have died cling to you. Whenever you finish a rest, you can choose one skill or tool proficiency that you lack and gain it, as a ghostly presence shares its knowledge with you. You lose this proficiency when you use this feature again.

Wails from the Grave As you nudge someone closer to the grave, you can channel the power of death to harm someone else as well a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. Immediately after you deal your Sneak Attack damage to a creature on your turn, you can target a second creature that you can see within 30ft of the first creature. Roll half the number of Sneak Attack dice for your level (round up), and the second creature takes necrotic damage equal to the roll’s total, as wails of the dead sound around them for a moment.

Tokens of the Departed When a life ends in your presence, you’re able to snatch a token from the departing soul, a sliver of its life essence that takes physical form: as a reaction when a creature you can see dies within 30ft of you, you can open your free hand and cause a Tiny trinket to appear there, a soul trinket. You can have a number of soul trinkets equal to your proficiency bonus and can use them in the following ways:
While a soul trinket is on your person, you have advantage on death saving throws and Constitution saving throws, for your vitality is enhanced by the life essence within the object.
When you deal Sneak Attack damage on your turn, you can destroy one of your soul trinkets that’s on your person and then immediately use Wails from the Grave, without expending a use of that feature.
As an action, you can destroy one of your soul trinkets at will. When you do so, you can ask the spirit within one question. The spirit appears to you and answers in a language it knew in life. It’s under no obligation to be truthful, and it answers as concisely as possible, eager to be free.
