Finch loves his work with his plants and helping those who need it like farmers. He is calm headed and rarely gets frazzled. He puts all of himself into things he views worth the work but he can be a bit impatient. Finch has also had a relatively easy life, his family supporting him graciously until he was able to stand on his own and he can get irriated without simple luxeries he has grown used to. This little deer also enjoys gossip maybe a touch too much and will go out of his way to catch a tid bit or two.

Finch was a no hassle sort of child. He listened and did his work as he was told with little to no qualms. It was expected of him by his parents. His two older brothers and one younger sister were also held to expectations to listen and they followed well. They were not a royal family by any means but they never had to worry. His father was a mage protector and his mother has a way with healing which has given the family a comfortable life with friends in higher places. The family was expected to be proper and well behaved. Finch's parents would never hurt the children if they didn't listen but sometimes Finch wished maybe there had been punishment. He grew up in a cold, unloving home and if you weren't upstanding it got somehow colder.
When Finch started to show signs of magic it scared his parents. Though not the first of the family to show magic ability, Finch even figured his mother may have had a touch of healing magic, it was the first strong enough to cause problems. Finch would often start to get irritated by a sibling and put them to sleep or an hour so that Finch could have a moment of quiet. His family sought change when Finch's mother got angry with him for not doing something and he attempted to make her sleep. This sudden act of rebellion was enough for his parents and they sent him to the order to receive training.
Finch did quite well within the order, enjoying the quiet he could find even with all the other beings around. Books made him happy and he flourished. His wealthy family supplied him with any monetary needs but that was all. He was no longer welcome home for visits and he never received any correspondence from them beyond money, even though they only lived over in Mead. Finch tried to ignore this, saying he didn't mind but inside it hollowed him. It seemed to give him a drive however in his studies and before too long he graduated and that hollowness found him yet again.
Finch never left Namarast after his time training with the order. His magic was useful but only in certain situations so when he sought to become a monster hunter he found he often was left out unless his skills were direly needed. So as he floundered to find his footing he found out his little sister too had been shipped to the order for training and sought her out. It was like coming to a stranger but they both seemed to want this connection and they began to get to know one another. Finch's parents still funded him without question and he sought to find himself.
Finch and his sister, Briar, grew close but unlike his magic hers grew potent. It worries Finch greatly but as she came closer to graduating it was clear she would hunt or become a protector like their father. And indeed she became a mage protector and although this means she had less time for Finch they tried their best to stay close. She would sometimes make him come along for simple things and it was during such a time that he found an older Bovine who grew plants and Finch fell in love with plants. Learning from this Bovine and funds supplied by his family Finch opened up a greenhouse and plant shop. Finch focused his attention to unique hybrids and variants of plants and quickly became a go-to staple for prestigious plants. He would be called on to create beautiful gardens, decorate beautiful interiors with living accents and so much more. Even being called on by local farms to help diagnose problems within their fields and orchards.
Finch is still considered a monster hunter as well but he is only called on when his sleep magic could be of great use. He also has been known to help those having horrible dreams or problems sleeping. Helping those with troubles much like his mother who he still has had no contact with since leaving. His parents' funds are gone now for Finch stands on his own but he knows if anything ever happened they'd still support him this way, just in nothing emotional. This still haunts Finch but he is very glad for his sister.
