Ikura is a popular model in Inkopolis thanks to his prestigious family. He garnered a lot more popularity after he starting getting into competitive (solo) when he turned 16.
He caters to his fans a lot when he's in the public eye, mostly due to his parents incentive. He's quite wary about appearance to the public, as he is the main brand image for his family's fashion company, becoming a bit stand offish if he meets people that are outside of meet & greets and the likes. Because of this, he has a bit of a hard time making new friends, especially in the competitive space. With his busy schedule and his celebrity-like status, it's hard for him to connect with others outside of his small list of friends from his elementary years.
With Ikura being busy as a model, he doesn't have much time to play solo, so his rank isn't consistent, but he managed to get ~2800 one time, becoming being his highest rank ever.
Relationship/history with Kobe:
Kobe joined the competitive scene thanks to Ikura, although not personally. Kobe's heard of his matches in his home region thanks to his classmates being a fan of him, and got hooked into the sport after watching them. He moved into Inkopolis with Wasabi, thanks to his internship as a "baseball" player (not actually baseball, but something like it in their society). Kobe started training hard in competitive to the point he managed to meet Ikura in matches. To make sure he keeps a lasting impression in their matches, Kobe keeps up a charismatic and delightful character with some cocky taunts and unpredictable movement. His astonishing displays and rise in popularity as a fan favorite in competitive does end up landing in Ikura's radar, and managing to spark off a friendly rivalry.
Kobe usually initiates the conversations out of matches due to Ikura being usually closed off. Though, they become friends and eventually start dating. Though, because of Ikura's appearance as a model/celebrity, his appearance in being single is important to his fans (parasocial relationship ‼), due to this, he's forced to keep the relationship a secret. To get around this, both of them disguise themselves when going out on dates.
Ikura's is still a bit closed off, though luckily, Kobe does try to help him open up a bit in the competitive scene. Sometimes joining him in scrims or helping teach the newbies about competitive. Kobe even takes him to Grizzco shifts, giving him the chance to practice other weapons outside of matches (and a good way to be in disguise).
Some facts:
- Ikura has a rare genetic mutation that is inherited through his family that causes his tentacles to have stripes rather than circles for a pattern.
- He is sponsored by his family's company when he plays competitive, and is the only one sponsored from them.
- Disguised, he sometimes joins Kobe's team in place of Wasabi on scrims, getting the chance to play a variety of weapons aside from E-liter.
- He loves plushies, he keeps a bunch around his apartment and bedroom.
