About

She was a very energetic child, always at the heels of whichever parent was at home at that moment and wanting to be part of everything. Her parents were often busy and couldn’t always spare the time for her that she craved, and this energy grew more difficult to deal with as she got older and she put it to use getting into trouble.

Thorn was able to put some of this energy into honing her magical capabilities with the help of a family friend, Leil Ardalor, who helped Thorn learn how to properly and safely use magic once it became clear that she had potential. She had a hard time actually applying herself to the lessons he gave her, however, feeling that he was too restrictive and wasn’t actually helping her like she needed due to her impatience.

She decided to join the Wardens due partially to the fact that her father is in the Warden Council representing the Stormlands, and her mother was once a Warden herself. When her sister Ivy traveled to Font to go to school, Thorn’s jealousy grew even worse, and this instilled a fierce desire in her to follow in the footsteps of her parents and become a Warden herself in hopes that they would be proud of her too.

Thorn is generally nice to most but quickly grows annoyed if she feels someone is belittling her or holding her back. She hates being ignored and even worse being interrupted if she’s in the middle of doing something or talking. She wants to help people and become someone great like how she views her parents to be, and begrudgingly, what she feels her older sister is. She learns best when it’s on her own terms, and when her stubbornness kicks in enough to want to give something her all. She’s quick to jump into trouble, whether it’s something she caused herself or it’s assisting to get someone else out of it, and takes most things in stride. She’s extremely dedicated to doing well with the Wardens, and she has great potential as a sorcerer if she can continue applying herself.

• She has a firefox kit familiar named Cara.
• She's from Felicity, within the Life Demesne.
• Her mark is Void. She’s surprisingly self conscious about her mark and was never one to flaunt it. It was quickly clear to her that no one she knew had a similar mark to her, and it only furthered her feelings of feeling lesser than even with it being a High Mark.
• Although not a devout follower of any gods or the paragons, she does believe in the ideals of both Lairen and Janelya of the paragons.
• She generally gets along with her parents but has clashed with them much more as she’s gotten older due to wanting their attention, feeling they were more proud of her older sister. Thorn wants to make them proud.
• She’s incredibly jealous of her sister and wants to surpass her in skill. She feels inadequate compared to her, especially now that Ivy has gone to Font for magic training, and it’s led to some resentment that Thorn is still dealing with.
• She’s been friends with a girl named Aubrey since they were both extremely young. They enjoy each other’s company, but Aubrey tends to bring out the worst traits within Thorn when they’re together and pushes her into getting into more trouble.
