Aderyne (PMR)

Once the Pokémon of a young, eager trainer, Aderyne worked her hardest to tackle each battle they faced together with all of her might, the both of them thriving with the unstoppable feeling of victory. Things were perfect until she suffered her first loss, and from that moment on, her relationship with her trainer deteriorated in a rapid downward spiral.

Rather than reassessing their battle strategy, her trainer arrogantly refused the guidance of his peers. He continued to pit Aderyne and the rest of his team against other Pokémon that easily outclassed them, though the training regimen still lead to several of them evolving, Aderyne included. But with each subsequent loss as a Quilava, Aderyne began questioning her abilities and the lack of results—the intense exertion she was forced through to push her toward evolving again inflicted deep scars both physically and mentally, and she found herself unable to evolve into a Typhlosion.

Not wanting to disappoint her trainer and desperate to succeed, Aderyne fought to the bitter end in their final battle together even after the rest of her team was defeated. Outraged over years of loss and mistreatment, she found a second wind in a fit of rage, lashing out against the Swampert that defeated her with the intent to land a fatal strike. Instead, she was struck down in self-defense and violently crushed by the Swampert’s Rock Slide attack, losing her left eye in the process.

When she finally awoke, Aderyne was alone.

Had it not been for a kindhearted stray Pokémon who left food while wandering the area the same night, Aderyne’s injuries and lack of will to carry on may have snuffed her out for good. It was enough to give her the strength to find some semblance of shelter, and after proper recovery, she felt a tiny glimmer of hope that motivated her to find a different purpose in life with her newly acquired freedom. Rumors of Typhlosion native to the Sinnoh region sparked her interest, and she began searching for a way to travel overseas.

After several unsuccessful attempts at stowing away on a ferry, a human tracked her down nearby, revealing himself to be a LVL-Co representative. Following an introduction to the world of Pokéhumans, and seeing it as an excellent opportunity to pursue the rumors of the spectral Typhlosion, Aderyne accepted a Dittech from the representative.

When she finally reached Sinnoh, Aderyne found a sense of inner peace she had never known before. Being a Pokéhuman gave her unbelievable ease to travel and experiences she never would have known otherwise—the call of adventure was thrilling to follow! Her journey through Sinnoh allowed her to adapt to her new human identity quickly, and with it, her will to live returned.

Her pilgrimage led to self-acceptance and a chance to mend her heart—at its conclusion, her flames calmed, and she evolved into a Typhlosion on her own terms, surrounded by beautiful Sinnoh.

Though she remains a vagrant soul at her core, Aderyne has returned to the mainland to seek a place to truly call home.
