A little lamb, playful and full of bounding joy.
Leapt for joy right over the fence. The woods was fun, but not for long.
The creek was cold, and far away.
The kids that came didn't hurt her, but she was scared and hid.
They laughed and splashed and played a while.
A glimpse of dirty grey wool, just a flash, and imaginations went wild.
A Manatee! Lost from the Zoo! Its hiding in the creek!
They giggled and whispered until dusk came, and then they scurried home.
Leaving the lamb, unbeknownst to them, cold and wet, alone.
A stilted knight arrived soon after, a hero clad in bark.
Sir 40 came, and rescued her, binding her to the stream.
She loves the stream, it gurgles and bubbles. She gathers it to her tail.
The shimmering glistening stream bottom echoed in her fur.
She bounds throughout the forest, full of innocent glee.
