A laid-back student who lets out his more free-spirited and artistical side by majoring in Musical Theatre during his stay in Hinode Hills.

As a nonchalant young man of moderate views, Shindou takes things easy and does absolutely everything in his own pace, --even when it comes to more relevant matters that could have an impact on his future career, such as passing exams and classes. There is hardly anything that cannot smoothly flow past him or make him lose his composure as he unaffectedly or… rather shamelessly accepts any kind of outcome, be it bad results. Life goes on.

The continuous relaxed attitude combined with his genuine exterior can allow others a distinct glimpse at his down to earth nature and sometimes even naïve look upon things and people. Yet, these very traits are also what make him approachable and unproblematic to get along with. Being easy to read quickly clears up that there is no ill intent in any of his words. He is quite friendly in a sincere way if one can look past his sometimes-overbearing transparency. Despite not being consciously socially adept, he finds it easy to confide in people as well, starting with an unprejudiced look at viewing strangers to the point of not putting a clear line between talking to them and talking to people he’s known for a longer time.

Nevertheless due to his ongoing wandering thoughts, Shindou can be perceived as unfocused and absentminded. He often uses his “work” in the theatre that is run by a friend as an excuse for that. Knowing he has a fixed place there for his future, he prioritizes assisting them over studying and actually getting his degree in Performing Arts, which is reflected in his credit hours. Claimed by himself, the stage plays and rehearsals consume most of his energy, as to why many things outside of performances, he drags himself through with a seemingly rather listless and occasionally indifferent stance. He likes to refer to his own shortcomings of expressive responses as resting and recovering energy, which includes resting his facial muscles. With his lacking initiative, Shindou is someone who can definitely make good use of a push.

Other

• Once during an improv exercise, he got assigned to the role of a detective and didn’t do well at all. To get more involved with the character, he was suggested to imitate him in various ways even outside of the class, which included running around with a toothpick for a few weeks. It’s become a habit since.
• "Helping out" in the theatre he works at includes chores such as cleaning the stage all the way to being an actual understudy
• As a child, he had a crush on Mary Poppins
• He doesn't do it too often but he's fairly skilled in beatboxing
• After his mother's remarriage, he's gotten a nine year old little stepsister. They get along well.
• His bangs are a bit uneven (left side shorter than the right) due to him letting his stepsister cut his hair. While she reacted with being near tears, he actually likes how it looks.
• He's left-handed.
• Some of his comics are in German. (Mostly the ones directed at a younger audience though) He reads these to get a better grasp at the language... simply for fun.
• Likes hip hop as well as classical music, but doesn't vibe well with country (nostalgic songs in that genre are an exception though!)
