In Katt's previous life she lived as a stray cat wandering the streets of Japan. She lived a very hard life scrounging for food and shelter day to day. Many humans had mistreated her in the past, but there was always one little boy she could trust. She would wait for him everyday in front of the shrine him and his parents always visited. The shrine was small and overgrown but smelled of beautiful seasonal flowers while fox statues stood at the perimeters. 

One day while waiting for her favorite boy to visit, it began to rain heavily. The rain had come down so hard that she had to take shelter underneath one of the many fox statues. All of a sudden, she heard screaming coming from the nearby river. She recognized the voices to be the parents of the boy. As quickly as her four legs could go, she dashed to the sound of screams. To her utter surprise, the boy was pinned under a giant demon dog. With all the courage in her little heart, she charged the giant hound and slammed into it with all her might. Both her and the demon dog went tumbling down claws and teeth thrashing around wildly. 

The demon dog ran away whimpering with it's tail between it's legs, the stray cat had triumphantly won the battle but at a cost... The little boy scooped up his favorite companion and wept. The stray was succumbing to her wounds. Laying the animal down on the steps of the shrine praying with all of his heart that somehow a god would come and save her. Sadly, she passed away. They buried her on the grounds of the shrine and marked her grave with a stone carved into the shape of a cat. 

Little did they know, a god had heard the plea of the boy. The fox deity of the shrine offered the cat new life! Now the cat lives as a celestial shrine maiden.

Facts:

• Human cannot see her tails or her cat ears (unless she uses her magic on them to give them insight)
• Katt was given a fan by the fox deity when she was given new life as a weapon to fight evil demons and protect the shrine
• Petting is only allowed on the head. It is said that anybody who tries to pet the two tails of the cat will perish in the most horrendous way possible. 
• She can shapeshift into any animal but prefers her human or feral cat form
• When she transforms into her cat form she keeps her necklace
• Her mark glows when she uses her magic 
• She has many familiars she uses for mounts, weapons, even articles of clothing
