Rin is a mischeveous, young vulpix that seemed to just appear on the streets of Inazuma one day. They seem to have severe distrust in any adults, and in fact has rejected and run away from any grown-up that has attempted to help them or take them in off the streets. They spend their time getting into mischeif, pickpocketing money, messing with Itori, and stealing things (like food and books) from merchant stalls.
In truth, Rin is an orphan that escaped to Inazuma with the help of their best friend, Komori, after finding out that the priests and villagers were planning to use Rin as a sacrificial offering to the Thunderbird they worshipped.
Rin is determined to return to their home to rescue Komori, who was chosen as Rin's replacement when Rin went missing. The purple feather they keep in their hair was given to them by Komori to help them escape their foggy island home. Rin is fiercely protective of this feather.
