Aegis is a young mage in training, specialising/preferring lightning styles of magic. He lives in the north where the landscapes are often white with snow. The seas hold ice platforms and Bergs. The northern elves (which aegis is) have longer ears than normal elves as the snow muffles sound, the elongated ears make it easier to pick up noise in the countryside.
He can be quite rude (without meaning to be, it's sort of like a teenager thing?) and keeps to himself, but he is hard on himself and wants to better himself. He isn't fully in control of his magic, so at one point he accidentally cast a flash of lightening towards a young woman in his town. Which he immediately leapt in front of to block the blow and took the hit himself. Hence the scar across his side.
He can get really frustrated and doesn't often show that he is happy, but as he got older (from 17 when the incident happened, to around 20) he has been under tuition of an older magic user and has been learning to better use his magic abilities. People around him can either like or dislike him, there's not really a nice balance or a major extreme. They can either find him rude and not like him, or realise he is a vulnerable younger person who dislikes himself for his flaws and take that into consideration and therefore like him for the rest of his personality which he tries to cover.
