𝓘n the days when Caithnes was born demi-gods (with one deity parent and one mortal parent) were a fairly common occurrence. Bestowed with a boon from their parent (in his case eternal vitality), they often were sought out by the various ruling bodies of Suoro to serve the needs of the nation and its people in various ways. Caithnes was one such youth, taken in by the Mayadrihn as a toddler and trained in the art of espionage well past his teens. For years he served the Mayadrihn's needs, taking on personas that sometimes subtly and sometimes overtly influence various individuals in ways that would change the course of history. While in these positions he ceased to be "Caithnes" and fully became the personality he was posing as. This meant he was often forced to do the unthinkable, including destroying those he loved, and even killing his own children. After a few centuries of this unsung work, Caithnes tried to take a vacation, seeking fruitlessly for a way out of the Mayadrihn's control. Around this time, a certain Great Mage offered him a proposition: risk everything to become Gods. Never one to turn down a challenge, Caithnes put it all on the line to aid the Great Mage in crafting and executing his ascension spell.

Now he lives on the Da'fer Islands with his life partner Ahd'ar'ohk, but in taking on his God's domains, he still finds himself tethered to the Mayadrihn (they are among his primary worshippers). While he doesn't relish his obligations, he does enjoy being able to meddle with impunity. These days, he still takes guises of his own choosing to keep an eye on his holdings in Suoro and to answer the prayers of those who need to escape a tight spot. Aside from that, most of Caithnes' days are filled spending his time with his human partner, Ember. He considers his time spent with them to be like an extended vacation and relishes the ability to unwind and let go of expectation.

In personality, Caithnes is a lover not a fighter, easily twisting words to avoid offense, charm, or get his way. While he can be slippery, he's mostly good natured (but don't get on his bad side or you might end up in the Realm of the Lost!). He's social, gregarious, and always likes meeting new people — especially if he can entice them into bed.
