- a sweet talker, Calix will tell anyone what they want to hear, using honeyed words to generally get what they want. in short, they can be extremely manipulative to save themselves, a defense mechanism born from their time in a sleazy business they had no business being in.
- Calix has a sharp tongue when they aren't trying to use their voice to get out of things. anyone close to them generally gets a sharp lash of it, in order to shove them far away. but at the same time, they tempt anyone and everyone to get close to them. in a way, they can't help themselves. they hunger for affection and genuine love, though they've never really had it. they want what they can't have.
- Calix is extremely guarded when not on the job, or when their magic is ineffective. they become a little more coarse and rough, with narrowed eyes and suspicions of anyone and everyone. there's blood under their nails, a stain that will never leave them. after their past, they've become very protective of themselves.
- Calix has no issues with fighting and throwing down. in fact, they can get very aggressive whenever anyone crosses them, a self-defense more than anything. they've killed in the past, just to protect themselves, but they aren't scared of the fact they've done some bad things in their past. in fact, they've done a lot of things, and because of it, can also be very aloof with things.
- there are times where they disassociate if it's too bad around them, fading far away and trying to make themselves smaller and not seen. if they don't have the wits about them to fight someone, they'll resort to this instead.

03 — Background
TW FOR; SEXUAL ABUSE
- Royal born, but you wouldn't think they were. Calix came into the world like everyone else, crying and begging for love from their parents. it was given to them, of course it was, but as they got older, there was a strange magic around them. a sweet tune to their voice, and it made their parents paranoid.
- it came to a head when they were only seventeen, thrown out onto the streets with accusations of a devil's tongue. this shattered some part of Calix, broke them into so many pieces that they could only cry and run.
- at nineteen, they came across a brothel owner that took pity on them. his words were sweet to them, and Calix was so eager to be loved, to be given all the affection and attention they had missed for two years.
- it wasn't anything like they thought. Calix was used, horribly. but their voice was so sweet and tender, and while they couldn't do anything to the patrons of the brothel (the owner was prepared), they were able to somehow manage to survive. the owner was immune to the magic they used, and in turn, Calix was stuck at the brothel for a very long time.
- it wasn't until they were thirty that they managed to get out. years of pent up rage at the owner and their situation led Calix to killing them, and fleeing.
- because of this, they ran from their country, finding solace in Ivras itself when they turned thirty-two.
- they've remained in Ivras for two years, with no intentions of going back. they're careful to use their magic, but a lot of non mages have found themselves sweet talked into taking care of Calix, or parting with food and coin.
- one day, Calix might end up in a permanent home, a place to lay their head. but for now, they use what they can to survive.

04 — Magic
Sound Manipulation
Calix uses their voice as their magic. It's a power of suggestion, a power to tune the soundwaves to be almost irresistible. It can almost be considered a siren-like ability.
Their ability means they can sound sugar sweet and coax you in close, or on the other side of the spectrum: scream so shrill your eardrums suffer damage (anything harmful is with express permission however).
At the moment, Calix is limited to only one single person they can use this magic on, and if they have a higher power than their Discipline, they can easily shake it off if Calix is attempting to fully charm them. Normally though there is a bit of a fuzzy feeling or a tint of warmth whenever Calix focuses entirely on someone. This is mostly used as a way to ensure that they are safe and not going to be harmed.

Costs
- Magic use reduces the caster's mobility or reflexes - Calix can't react like he wants when focusing on using his magic and voice. He's a little slower, and can't react to sudden throws or hits.
