Briar Is a gardener and water type based pokemon trainer from Sinnoh, who currently lives in Eterna city. StoryFirst Journey Briar's inaugural journey unfolded through the thoughtful intervention of her childhood friends, Tsubaki and Gemma. In a clandestine move, they secured a partner Pokémon for Briar, who was bound by the confines of Eterna due to her overprotective parents and delicate health. Gifted a Piplup in secret, Briar's foray into the life of a trainer became a reality through Gemma's ingenious plan to sneak her out. The trio commenced their Sinnoh journey after a successful escape from Eterna. While Gemma and Tsubaki pursued badges, Briar contentedly supported her friends, reveling in the chance to explore the region for the first time. Unbeknownst to them, Briar's disappearance eventually caught the attention of her vigilant parents, who initiated a search. Despite the looming threat of discovery, the trio managed to evade detection until reaching Sunyshore. Their journey came to an abrupt halt when Briar's parents intercepted them, swiftly bringing her back home. Her adventure, though cut short, left an indelible mark on Briar's heart as she returned to the sheltered confines of Eterna. Through Platinum In the main story of the game, Briar takes the place of Cheryl--The protagonist helps her get past Eterna forest since she's afraid of running into Team Galatic. After being returned to Eterna, If spoken to she'd gift the protagonist with Berries or healing items.
Character
From a delicate and sheltered childhood marked by persistent frailty, Briar emerged as a kind and compassionate woman, always ready to extend a helping hand. Despite retaining a degree of naivety and gullibility from her upbringing, Briar's generosity sometimes leads to less-than-wise decisions, with certain individuals exploiting her kindness—a fact she remains blissfully unaware of until pointed out by others. Now grown, Briar's gentle nature contrasts with lingering insecurities about her perceived weakness. Health challenges from her past contribute to a subtle worry that she might be left behind by others, casting a lingering shadow on her otherwise sunny disposition. This concern occasionally weaves its way into her interactions, subtly influencing her actions as she navigates the delicate balance between her intrinsic kindness and the fear of being perceived as fragile or burdensome. . Childhood friend Gemma is one of Briar's oldest friends, they lived near each other as children and Gemma would visit her often. Because of Briar's childhood meekness Gemma was quite protective of her--She was Briars voice when she herself was too nervous to interact with people--since Gemma is much more assertive. Gemma was also the one to convince Briar to travel with her. Eventually, due to their adventure getting stopped they were forced to lose touch. At some point, Gemma's family moves away and Briar lost contact with her completely. .
Childhood friend Briar's second childhood friend and the better influence on Briar. Tsubaki was much more careful with Briar, and was more worried about her during her travels than Gemma, who was a bit sucked into just having fun on their journey. She isnt as openly protective over her friend as Gemma but looks out for her as well--Their mannerisms are fairly similar so they're more relaxed around each other, Gemma is the one who brings energy to the group. Much like Gemma, Briar also loses contact with Tsubaki. .
