< Backstory >
> Member of the ancient, technologically advanced civilization known as the Old Builders. > Used to be an anomalous energies expert (meaning: they studied magic). > Said civilization was under attack by a plague of mobs, and were seeking somewhere to flee to. They knew of the Nether, theorized confidently that other such realms might exist, and started construction on a portal to one: the End. Circuit was on the team that built it, their role being centered around figuring out what was on the other side of the portal, and designing several components. However, when the time came to actually go through the portal, they opted to stay in the overworld, supposedly to close the portal. Their plan was to go into stasis and wait out the apocalyptic event in the overworld. > And they were waiting it out, but not really for the right reasons. Circuit may or may not have become very calculating and detached from others over time. They didn't want to go through the End Portal themself because they knew the energy of the Void surrounding the End could be dangerous, but was deeply curious to (indirectly) see what would happen over time. And they may or may not have made sure that whatever it was would have a chance to happen by making the portal one-way. > However, their plan failed in one key way: Circuit was asleep for much, much longer than they intended, and wasn't revived until Corvus (another player character) found them. Their memory is foggy and has large gaps in it due to this, but they aren't nearly as cold and distant. > So, lots of angst and a second chance, anyone?
