Gilbert is Liam's past life.

He's a door-to-door salesman who scams people by selling "New revolutionary clothing! The clothes of the future!". The clothes are actually made and designed by himself, as he really does have a passion for designing clothes... It just... makes more money to sell a product for more than they're worth.
Gilbert always "knows a guy" when you need something sketchy and almost every conversation with him ends in an advertisement.
