art notes: their tail shows momo's battery life. their face and chest are both screens, changing to show emotions, weather, battery life, etc.

friendly palm-sized robotic monkey, created to be a home and travel companion for those who want a bit less loneliness in their life.

momo— their official model name— is the first (and only) prototype of a scrapped design, replaced and most likely improved upon by the future robotic monkeys.
this isn't to say momo was a failed creation, but the lead engineer that had designed them had decided that they wanted a unique robo-monkey of their own, and didn't want to share what they believed was their magnum opus. to do this, they simply designed a newer model with different features, colours, and name, presented it to the rest of the engineering team, and the rest was history.

as all living things do, momo's creator passed many years later, having taken care of momo through bug fixes and regular maintenance. the monkey's future uncertain, they fell into disrepair and unusable after bugs rendered them unable to keep a charge for long enough to attempt their own fixes.
they were eventually auctioned off as an antique prototype through an estate sale, being taken in by a "living robot" enthusiast. momo was dusted off, manurally recharged, updated with better, more natural AI (after years of technological advancements had made it possible), and their bugs squashed.

now, momo has the same capabilities as all the newer robo-monkey models that were designed and fully-produced after them, while still being one-of-a-kind. they can self-update and push simple bug fixes, create and utilise fully-detailed maps of commonly-visited locations, engage fluidly in conversations, and more.

• future ideas include making a life-size (!!) clay model of them :)
