She’s quiet and watchful, but also very excitable! She gets fired up pretty easily, but most of the time she’s just sitting quietly and watching. In her eyes, the most important thing is rain, or water at least, fortunately the climate of her home seems to agree. She believes in solitude and self-discovery; she thinks the best ideas and revelations come when you’re alone. Maybe it’s because she really craves solitude, or maybe she’s lonely. She’s motivated by this solitude, though, and strives to make her world a place where she can be all alone and nobody bothers her. Not in a “I’m gonna murder everyone” way, but more “there will be no reason to bother me about anything because no ones worried at all.” That is part of the reason she works as a city guardian; so that the threats will go away and she can live peacefully and quietly.

She’s got a mostly positive self-image, although she gets really frustrated with herself when she can’t communicate what she wants properly (which is often, seeing as how she does her best to not talk to people on a regular basis). She gets angry at other people a lot too, when they talk to her. Really she just wants to be alone! Or find someone who can understand her!! She doesn’t really get that you have to put in the work for most people to be able to understand you on that level, and she’s too tired (and scared?) to actually do that.

She behaves coldly toward other people generally, unless she’s feeling really sad and needs some comfort. Even then, she prefers to pet cats than talk to people, so she has to be incredibly worn out to actually crave human interaction. In public, she has a mild response to most emotions. She doesn’t want people to notice her, so she’ll tone everything down and do her best to contain herself. In private though (or at her work), she’s much more animated and outgoing! She does everything with a grand flourish. This duality reflects into her demeanor as well. In public she’s more reserved and quiet, in private she’s loud and excitable. She has decent posture, but tends to slump a lot to appear smaller. Or to lean in to whatever she’s trying to focus on, like video games or a book or something.

You won’t find her speaking very often (at least around other people), but when she does she likes to stick to cryptic one-liners she heard from edgy movies. If that one-liner turns into actual conversation, she’ll do her best to respond, though she’ll usually sound disinterested and maybe even nervous. Her vocabulary is pretty average, though she likes learning new words. She doesn’t often get chances to use them (unless she’s talking to herself), but she still finds it fun. She doesn’t swear very much, but she doesn’t completely abstain from it. She does it more in places like online chats or forums than in real life, but even still it’s pretty sparing.

Her hobbies are somewhat varied, but are mostly indoor things. For instance, she likes gaming and reading. She spends a good chunk of her free time doing those things, usually in the dark. She cares for plants and kitties, and has way too many of both populating her home. The kitties come and go, most are strays that only stop by to steal her food, but the plants are infesting her home and you can hardly see some of the walls anymore. She also collects plushies, and talks to them sometimes. Her favorites are the ocean-themed ones, or the character ones from shows and games she likes. Some of them are reeeally old, but since her collection is ever-growing there’s plenty of newer ones as well. It’s a wonder the cats don’t steal them all, to be honest. She likes to swim and be in the rain too, which isn’t as much of an indoor thing. Being a water dragon, it’s to be expected. She loathes public pools though, so she mostly swims in the many lakes and flooded areas of the town. Why do public pools even exist in her city? The business is going under, no doubt. She has a small (in comparison to her plant/plushie collections) collection of raincoats, which she rarely wears outside because she doesn’t want to get them dirty. Man she needs to work on her hoarding, it’s becoming a problem. The fish that frequent those ponds say hi sometimes, and she says hi back. Usually. She doesn’t like hot weather or deep darkness.

• Her favorite music genres are lofi hip-hop, jazz, and classical. She doesn’t know too many actual artist names, but she’ll put playlists on in the background while she works on things and has a few songs saved.
• If she had a nickel for every time she’s fallen asleep in a public bathroom stall, she’d have 10 cents. That isn’t a lot of money, but it’s concerning that it’s happened twice.
• The one game she’d destroy everyone at would be Neko Atsume. How do you destroy someone in Neko Atsume…? She’d, uh, she’d do it.
• Her most-used emojis are 🐟, 🙃, and 💤.
• When she hasn’t had enough sleep she looks a bit like a zombie. She’s like, “well it’s too late to sleep now, not gonna do that,” and walks slowly with a murder look in her eyes.
• Their preferred hot beverage is tea. Preferably with sugar in it! Or honey instead, whatever they have on hand.
• When she’s in a slump she’ll try to journal her feelings away or play video games. Or both! She does those things a lot regardless, so not too much changes. She’ll probably eat more sweets than she usually does as well.
• Her favorite weather is rain. In case you couldn’t tell. Fortunately for her, the city is a very rainy place.
• Her singing voice isn’t terrible, but it isn’t necessarily good either. Pretty average. It’s pretty rusty and metallic sounding, if it had a smell it’d probably be a deciduous tree during fall.
• She’s not that great of an artist (although she’s got step 1, having no friends, down), but she likes to doodle wyrms, dragons, cats, and plants in the margins of her notebooks.
• Her handwriting is awful. Seriously. I’m not gonna mince words, it is unreadable to all but her. The worst part is, she doesn’t see a problem with it, but I mean no one really has the chance to see her writing anyway so I guess it’s fine.
• She’s got a minor thalassophobia (unfortunate given her home, but same), she’s only really scared of things like jellyfish, cephalopods, and crabs. She loves fish though, even the weird-looking ones.
• Her favorite smell is basil! And that green scent you smell after it rains! Her least favorites are burnt popcorn and gasoline. For textures, she likes cats/cat fur and dislikes slimy things. Her favorite food is spaghetti.
