Like all Living Doll plush toys, Vaianu was a one-off design titled "Tasmanian Tiger." She would come with optional sets of "Starry Sky Mane" wigs, and had earned a Dogwood Badge as a testament to resiliency and everlasting. As per tradition, she was the prize for a contest.

Won and simultaneously purchased by Kiko, Vaianu went through the stuffing ceremony and was given her sentience. With this, she now learned to serve a master with only one goal: please the kiddo!

However, as Kiko and her brother grew up, there was no longer a need for her in the household. She was given the choice to continue her living there, and/or to move on as a full-blown citizen.

So, although she has stayed within the Sonoda residency, she has picked up a career that has put her more in the limelight... Without the danger of going outside.

Inspired by animatronics and nostalgic record players, Vai got to mixing and eventually created her own radio show / podcast.

Design Notes

  • Pink, blue, gold, or no hair!
  • Needs plushie/animatronic details (colorful stitching, robot parts, etc)
  • Dogwood badge; mint leaves; right side only. Brown diamonds/branches
  • Her pawpads are pink, blotchy, and star-shaped!
  • If clothing: summer outfits! Loves sun/straw hats
Trivia

  • Part of "Living Doll" plushtoy line; magically enhanced stuffies with sentience meant to replace babysitters and maids
  • Her only requirement is stitching and stuffing to hold together, but she will never "die" unless her magic fades
  • As such, Vaianu does not require sustenance and can't actually ingest anything!
  • However, her magic is subject to corruption, and she can go "dark."
  • Loosely based on Tigger, like how Rem is based on Eeyore
