Plot synopsis:
Axel and Dia live in a massive city known unofficially as “The Silver Light”, a name it earned from it’s usage of many high-end technologies. This Silver Light is one of the first well-known cities to start using Ultra Facilities, where mutant children (ultra beasts) are taken in and raised in an attempt to help them survive in a regular society. Ultra Beasts in this world are a rare, but enthusiastically researched phenomena where if one or more parents shares a common type with an ultra beast, they have a very small chance of giving birth to a “mutant” child. This child resembles whatever ultra beast mutation that manifested within the fetus during pregnancy instead of it’s parents, and will be born with often immense and uncontrollable power compared to other pokemon. The power they are born with is dependent on the “strength” of the particular ultra beast, and ties into their signature “Beast Boost” ability which boosts their mutant abilities when they go into a rage. For example, Axel excels with electricity related powers, and Dia is extremely fast on her feet.
Ultra Facilities often try their best to take these mutant children from their parents at birth. Many hospitals comply with this as it’s considered law to hand them over given the injury and death that have happened by keeping an untrained ultra beast at home. However, there are a few that have been taken in at later ages, either after parents couldn’t handle it while keeping them hidden from the law or, regrettably, after the ultra beast has harmed others. Most Ultra Facilities do a good job of taking care of these mutant children, but it is understandable that some come out of it feeling alienated from family and sometimes society in general.
While ultra beast children don’t resemble their parent pokemon, most of the time siblings of ultra beasts will still resemble their parents. This is due to the fact that ultra beast mutated children are very rare. However, because of this, some few particularly devastated families decide to treat the Ultra Beast child as a miscarriage and continue life with other children. Once the child is an adult, they are allowed to leave the facility, granted they have learned to control their powers at least somewhat. Powers that are more physical in manifestation like quick “pheromosa”s and strong “buzzwole”s can gain a handle on their powers easier than many others. As a xurkitree, Axel, who was released and is now 25 years old is still unable to control when he sucks the charge out of electrical devices or not, so he wears rubber gloves when dealing with them.

Axel is a confident xurkitree gijinka who enjoys playing shows with the other members of his stylish rock band: “Z-DIODE” . He’s gathered a rather large following of fans, and together with the rest of his electric type friends they occasionally top the charts.
From a young age, he’s been known as an easily excitable, and recklessly brave person. His nature is what drove him to contact his parents again even after being taken to an “Ultra Facility” at birth, as well as use his status as a mutant in an attempt to make it big at his dreams. He hasn’t once regretted his choices, nor does he ever feel the need to blend into society, at least not to the point where he’d lose himself. His ability to express himself is important to him, so he wears the fact that he is an ultra beast on his sleeve.
Additional Info:
- Unlike Dia, he still regularly spends time with his family.
- His electric guitar's design is based on a shiny xurkitree.
- He loves doodling designs for clothing he could wear. Whether people acknowledge this as a skill of his or not is up to individual interpretation.

Dia is working as a secretary for the boss of a booming Pharmaceutical company known as “CURE Inc.”. CURE stands for Creating Universal Recovery for Everyone. Dia doesn’t spend much time thinking about the reach of the company, she spends the majority of her time filling out and sorting papers. However, at times she is sent to fulfill other tasks like surveying new CURE buildings, and checking in with those they supply to. She could hardly be considered friendly, but she gets the job done.
Most who know her consider Dia to be cold, and astute. She helps run the top of the company with an iron fist. Axel and her first met at a concert designed to protest a new CURE building being built over an old, abandoned stage. The two, strangely, hit it off, and she invited him out for coffee once they both had no business there. They seem to both enjoy debating, and in the end Axel was surprised to know that she could be so open-minded under her “no jokes” attitude. However, she’ll still get rather heated during debate, whether or not she decides to play devil’s advocate.
Additional Info:
- Dia hasn't seen her parents since she was taken to an ultra facility as an infant. She has periods of time where this makes her very sad.
- She can be catty at times, and her more flirtatious side definitely has some witty bite to it.
- She loves coffee a lot, doesn't matter how it's served.
