Yanus Mare

Info: He is a dream daemon known as a Somniphage (dream-eater). Yanus, in particular, is one of a very high and powerful class (basically a general/duke in Sheol aka Hell) and presides over lower daemons whose classes are associated with nightmares, hallucinations, insanity and other psychological disorders the can be caused by lack of sleep. He has some power over daemons of lust, and can be considered an incubus.

Yanus can disguise himself as a human and most often inserts himself into positions of prestige and wealth. This makes it easier for him to get close to more humans, as his goal is to kill them and take their souls for himself. Enjoys watching the people he gets close to suffer by his hands before he kills them, sometimes waiting a span of years before taking a life. He tortures his prey with a combination of psychological attacks via his powers over dreams (causing things like paranoia and anxiety) or by his mastery of verbal/visual manipulations. He not only creates nightmares, his body can be made of them. He can also take the form of a shadow as can all somniphages, so as to not be easily detected by those with a high spiritual connection.

Like my angel charachters, Yanus has a much of the same basic power set in addition to the abilities I mention previously. He has the basic powers of a spirit/ghost (flight, intangibility, invisibility, light manipulation, selective interaction with the physical plane, size manipulation). As well as an effect on the human heart (soul/mind). The mechanics of invisibility: 1) Can be seen by the spiritually sensitive when they have their invisibility activated 2) Appear to humans at their discretion 3) Can choose what to turn invisible/ intangible. Light Manipulation (Much like in Danny Phantom (sort of)): Holy Fire (angels) or Infernal Flame (daemons) The light mostly affects the human soul, but can affect a human's physical body at the Angel/Daemon's discretion 1) Heal's and calm's a human (Angel) or Causes anxiety and unnecessary rage (Daemon) 2) Depending on if they are Angel or Daemon, it affects the human in opposite ways -Angels= positive things/emotions (Their light is only deadly to Daemons.) -Daemons= negative things/ emotions).(Their darkness is deadly to angels) Shapeshifting: For both angel and daemon, their true sizes are a lot more imposing and look a lot different than what you've seen of them (my drawings XD) They can change their shape so as to not scare humans if they are seen. (See Luke 1:11 for example) -For angels, they only want to help people so thats their reason for the shapeshifting -Daemons on the other hand do it to get closer to a victim by gaining their trust, and attack when they least expect it.
